Hi all,

I found a couple of four to five-year-old posts on here talking about E30 specialists in the area including Munich Motors (expensive? Varied reports), and Clifton Motors not being specialists - just good.

Can anyone give any up-to-date information about anyone new who might have sprung up in the last few years and who are any good with M20s?

I have had Wingfield Engineering in Winnersh recommended to me, but they're diesel specialists, and probably not especially keen on old BMWs.

My 1988 325i Touring has lost all its green lights, bar one, and the ABS light has popped up to keep the last green light company.
Having got married, moved from Worcestershire (away from the amazing Richard at RRP in Stourbridge), and changed jobs, the old car has taken a lower priority and lugged some loads. Now she needs some decent treatment.

Hope you can help.

Dave Gardiner-Reading-0118 9311401, hes been a BMW techy. for 25 odd years, hes on the same trading estate as my work, always seeing E28/E30/E34s there. Heard he does a good job, but never used him myself.

Great, thanks. I'll try Dave first, as he's 15 mins walk from my work and home (figure that out), and will let you know how we get on. Reckon he'll be pissed if i bring the spark plugs i just bought on eBay? Probably best I fit them myself - show willing.

If not then i'll move further afield.

Thanks again!

I recommend Maurice, Nuffield Garage, Wallingford between Reading and Oxford, he's a BMW specialist having been a BMW Master Techy in the past and now runs his own garage.

Nice to see so many specialists around, I'm in Basingstoke & work in Reading, I always see 2 or 3 E30s driving the opposite way,One is a E-reg facelift 2-door which looks like its been re-sprayed in E36 blue, one is Andy-M's white 318i, & a H reg silver more door.

We should arrange a meet, any ideas on a venue? it'll be nice to meet another 1993 Calypso cab!

Agreed, a Berkshire rally would be fun to see.

I reckon The Southcote on Bath Road has a decent car park, good access, but no idea about beers or anything, never set foot in there! It's a beefeater i think, so probs not the blurst of pubs.

Be good to find out what people want from their cars, how they drive em, etc.

Thanks again for further suggestions - good to know there's a large selection if needs be.

I'm not especially proud of the old girl right now, apart from what she's been through. Needs a polish, a service, and the indicators to be put on the inside of the bumper. Long story.

Which i spose i could tell if we met up at some point.

But before we launch an Events thread we could agree on a time so at least 4 or 5 people turn up, that's a decent base.

I'm thinking a weekday evening like a Tues, Weds or Thurs, or finding a weekend when nobody's doing anything. Sunday evening would be good - gimme time to get back from anywhere if im goin there.

How's the midweek time sound to you?

Let's have a tentative Thursday night?

I'll be done at work from 1900, but am only 20 mins away if i'm walking.

So 1930 onwards is fine by me, if by y'all, and i'll post it up on the main Events forum.
