Just purchased some brand new BK reps!. Had them put on the car a few days ago with brand new tyres and balanced correctly. Got the car laser alined etc. But since the change to 17's the steering keeps shaking over 30mph!. The suspensions ok, so are all the bushs!!. I've been told from a zoner that theres issues with these BK reps and there shit over a certain speed?!..

jack the car up and spin the wheels and see if there running true.. check if there sitting flush against the hub.. failing that remove them and fit a set of 15" bbs

thanks B7! what i really wanted 2 hear! haha!
what are your top mounts like? they can slip under the net for fault finding. Knackered ones give the symptoms you describe, & amplified by larger diameter wheels with lower profile tires..
17's are too big for the e30 tbh..

Not when he swapped back to BBS instead shitty reps and it's fine though.

If they are fooked so that it's shaking badly at 30mph it wouldn't matter if it had 14" or 17" it would be noticable.
It's possible they are tired anyway and new ones really sharpen up the handling. Defos worth doing if they haven't already but the problem with the car defos sounds like the reps to me.

It'll be the rims. Believe me.......................Barx325i wrote:I'm just saying it's worth a look, it's not totally outside the realms of possibility
The issues you are referring to will only be amplified by the BK's. Which means the BK's will be out of true to start with. Yes the 15's may not show the issues up but when they do? the car would be undrivable on the BK's.
Si and I had a 325i touring with absoloutley f*cked out of their brains top mounts. It still drove well apart from the odd knock.
This will be the rims without a doubt.
