If you use a 2 part poly bush as a replacement there is less chance of breaking the backing plate when installing it.

I've read that too. In your opinion does the polybush transfer more vibration/noise into the car than the OEM rubber item?

Rear cover in the oven or boiling water to warm it up, new bush in the freezer to cool it down, and it will nearly fall in place. Just ensure it goes in square.

I would suggest that you wait untill the usual operator of the oven is out shopping before trying this! :o:

I have swapped to the polly and never noticed a difference at all. But it was easy to fit and went in by hand.

i simply think its a crap design and seen them fail too many times, much like their 2 peice lolly pop bushes.

the fact its a 2 peice design you can install it in by hand and its held in with 2 washers says a lot for the design...........

some of the powerflex stuff is good, but i much prefer the supaflex stuff.

ZM diff bush is the best option for fast road light track work or even as a straight replacement.

Maybe the design has changed, Mine is the power flex 2 peice but the main peice inserts at the rear of the bush (very snug fit), then there is a cap like peice for the front to stop dirt getting in. You then have a metal shaft for the center also a very snug fit with the washer's for the nut and bolt. No crack's or sign's of wear as of yet for me.

I 100% agree with you on the lolly pop bushes, I don't understand how they got on the market in the first place.

Sorry, bit of a hijack, you mention the ZM diff bush is the best option. Is that part number 33172228425? I'm in need of a replacement.
Cheers

powerflex were going to be sued by bmw for copying their design because their original one was like BMW's, so they changed their lolly pop bush to the 2 peice kit which is dangerous

the diff bush you are describing is like the ones i have seen.

you try dismantlng the bmw ZM designed bush, near enough impossible but you can press the polly one together by hand................... says it all really

I see what your saying, but once the center shaft is fitted the bush spread's a little so no chance of movment at all.

The zm one is rubber so it will distort when pressure is put on it, that's why you need a press or a quick slap with a club hammer.

Think were never going to agree on this one :)

Would you use the polly Rear beam bushes ?

nope used superflex ones

unlike the powerflex with a silly 2 peice design peice.......

there is no gain to be had by fitting them imo on road car.

as for the diff bush, there is a required ammount of give/flexbility needed on a road car. with solid bushings the stress and loda moves else where leading to damage such as cracked diff covers, and floor sections and spot welds.

Reason I asked is I fitted the polly beam one's (treehouse racing) almost totally by hand, But that's irelavant now.

I just wait till (if) something give's then repot back..
