That would probably be because your E36 compact is much more similar to an E36 in the engine bay than an E30, and it already has the EWS gubbins fitted?

You will have to dish out alot more than £2K.. (and never expect to make it back mind you)

Domino effect; You change the engine - everything else follows - suspension, brakes, steering...

Would be well worth it though :D

Xavi, it can be done, but it's not cheap to do properly !

as said, S50 into a compact is open bonnet and bolt/plug it all in, job jobbed, E30 requires mods to engine, manifold, plenum, braking system(servo and M/cyl) , wiring loom + anything else that comes to light during the swap.

if the S50 is close to 100K a new oil pump is a wise choice @ this time, as are uprated big end bolts(ARP) and new big end shells, there's £800 there for ya to think about....

Done a few here, none been boomeranged back so no worries.

Dont forget to cost for a diff or at least 3.15:1 ratio, and some MUCH bigger brakes, the std setup is not gonna cut it dude.
