I am a sucker for wide wheels with perfect arch gap and stretch. I have started flaring the arches on my mk1 golf to take 10's.
Clean, down 'n' out is where it's at imo.

There is that stunning silver tech 2 one with the silly wide rs' that looks super smart if anyone has a pic?

Bar the kidney grille, which is horrid!
Anyway, its all about the chromie Tech 1's Laches/Sterling Silver or Dolphin Grey or Diamond Black.
Wide, wide, wide BBS RS's and a stunning red/black leather themed interior.

Uni is killing the project.
It depends what you class as modding? Some people do a great job in making their car look a lot better with a few subtle changes but then you've got cars as per Bootymans thread with coffee table spoilers and boiler flue exhausts.
I'd go for a little modding.

Oh, I don't know. A little tasteful modding goes a long way....

I joined up here back when I was set on an e30 cabby but inadvertently ended up with an e28 project instead. I just hang around because I like it now!

I like the classic looks, so little or no body mods. But mild improvements to the handling and performance is ok. Mind you, most of that can be done with a good service, decent tires, new brakes and an oil change.
i have a standard e30 but love tastefully modded e30's with period, good quality mods and original optional extras.im not a fan of chromies though, apart from tech1 sports(sorry chromie lovers)i much prefer facelifts.i love the hartge e30's but have never been too keen on the snow plough alpina's although i have seen a nice black alpina cab with red leathers on chris warburtons website a couple of years back.that was one was gorgeous

@mabz, saw that myself! Stunning thing. One of the cars that has aspired me to get red carpets and red 'n' black interior. Done properly though, none of this ricer rubbish style.
@Parabola and mabz - Tastefully modded E30s are always great! I like proper mods, as long as they are wonderfully hidden. New engines, exhausts, tuning stuff, new steering racks, suspension works etc. As long as it doesn't have a bad visual effect.
I'm also a bit of a wannabe wheel whore (a wheel lover without the funding).
As far as bodywork goes on an E30.... I like most of the standard stuff, SE, Sports, 'Pinas, ACS, Hartge etc. Even the BBS kits look kinda cool.
But what I love is either standard Tech 1's, properly worked on Tech 2's (perfect alloys, arch work, colors, touches, etc) or the euro look...

I'm having fun modding my car. I like moded cars until I see a really clean and absolutely stock example.
It seems no one can resist the temptation to add there personal touch, myself included the stock cars are so few and far between the look really fresh.
