My wheels got stolen today..
Moderator: martauto
I don't think Magpie is insinuating anything. Just saying it's horrible and strange that it happened in broad daylight. Most break-ins and robberies are done in broad daylight while the thieves pretend, bold as brass, they are doing something legitimate. People such as locksmiths and coppers could confirm this. Knicking a set of wheels in the dark will always look suspicious. At 7.30am no one gives a crap about anything apart from breakfast and the pain of going to work.

Is there anything special about these wheels that would identify them as yours 327?
Which tyres did you have fitted? Do you have a receipt for them, to identify make, size?
Did you ask all the neighbours? did anyone see which car they were using?
I want to say I'm sorry this happened and I'm full of rage on your behalf.

Hi Toby, yeah its shocking that it happened when it did in broad daylight at a busy time. Nothing special to identify them, they were standard motorsport wheels and tyres (as per my avatar) that were immaculate and came with the car when i bought it. The police went around to all the neighbours to ask and nobody saw anything. thanks for your sentiment.

Well Kuben, I will keep it at mine for as long as you want, It was hard to find in the first place and you longed for one for so long. It will sit next to my mrs car and be blocked in by the 5 and out of view. (btw sean will buy it back) I am happy to sit on it till your sure weather you want rid or not.

true to a point, but who's going to fuck about trying to remove/break off a locking wheel nut for set of wheels worth £200 and risk getting nicked for it ?pac1982 wrote:Even the most expensive locking nuts wont stop someone who has the right tools and knows what there doingKos wrote:not nice thing to happen but ever heard of lockinng wheels nuts?
even though some are easy to remove they are a big enough deterrent unless its a seriously expensive set of wheels that some one wants.

i've had to remove 2 sets after losing the key (
) the same car both times too, and never lost one off any other car!
1st set came off with a welder and some spare nuts, second set came off in half the time with stuff in any normal tool kit. pretty noisy though
