I need to take her for one last blast on a country road, but, I think I'm done.

I love the drive...
I love the way she feels around corners...
I love the sound she makes from her 6 cylinder goodness...
I love the 318is written on the number plate, pre conversion.
I love the M-Tech, the tech 2 steering wheel and gear shift just topping it off.

I love the, albeit, torn leather seats...
I love the Zender kit, the way she looks so mean on the tarmac.

I love her for all her faults, but I can no longer support her...

I took a big paycut compared to my previous job, since being redundant, and I can't afford to get her back to her glory.

I think she will go to waste with me... I may have to put an ad up soon... These are sad times :(

I think I just need a bigger, more reliable, boring ole car now... The E30 is a wonder I can't maintain anymore...

Has anyone else felt this neeed to get rid of an E30 before, but at the same time you're already kicking yourself?

I need to get pics and an ad up soon; insurance ends in 9 days.

See you in the For Sale section soon muchachos... Sad times indeed. :(

Having just pi$$ed away 1800 euros on my car I'm thinking about a change too. My touring has been my daily for 8 years and I'm very attached to it, but I just can't stop myself chucking endless cash at it and it doesn't make sense. I'm toying with going the E39/46 route.

Funnily enough, the car I'm missing after all this malarkey is my 1992 P10 Primera eGT... It was big n cheap and jus getting fixed right when some fool hit it and wrote it off... I was SO gutted.

For what it's worth I did exactly this when my 325 touring packed up. I went out and bought a 530d touring (epic, epic car). And now, 2 months later? Have given it to the wife (and two nippers.) and I'm back in the 325i. Well I will be once it's fixed.

It's a great car; make no mistake but there's no special feeling/no comaraderie on the road from other users (never mind other e30 users!), no nods of appreciation, no sense that you're driving something that's fun, customers just see you as a wanker in a 5 series rather than being someone in a classic 3 series. Just the whole experience of e30 - I can't stay away.

So I'm back. To be honest I'd lost heart with the 325 but this has given me renewed energy to get her back on the road!

Of course for long journeys with the kids and all their shit the 5 series is perfect but for local roads (I'm in Pembrokeshire) well the 3 series wins hands down.

mabz: congrats! Another reason I want the money is because I have a busy year ahead and it helps to have it!

Also the E30 is too low to be useful for me giving my granddad lifts places; he's an old man now, and a long way away from the guy that challenged rally champions in his Cortina GT ;)

n1tr0_9 - I probably will be back in one day, but only if it involves a lottery win and an M3... If I won anything in excess of £20k right now I'd easily keep her and get her to a mint condition; she deserves it.

barrymate; a damn shame!

You guys all know the car, I got it off a zoner!
I love it in a way, but hate it soo much when it gives me stick.

Even with its engine which isn't 100% and needs work, she starts everytime, even in the coldest weather. That's just saying something about her staying power!

But she has issues which leave her far from perfect that I cannot afford to fix, but if I had the money, I would. Like, really, really would, and then buy a bigger car to actually take people around in; currently behind me there is not even a cm of legroom!

I took her to Download Festival and back so she's done London-Derby-London in 2008, and my ex lived in Northampton so regular trips were made there when we were together.

The 1.8 had an oil pump failure which wasn't noted by the previous owner, and Spadge fitted the 2.5 lump with gearbox, clutch, exhaust etc. It was cheaper than a rebuild by a lonnng shot, and I am still undecided whether keeping the 1.8 would have been wiser than hearing the gorgeous sound of the sixpot or not. Hmm...

Lol! I see no sense in that! If the zone chipped in it would be better to put that toward fixing the BMW than buying and insuring another car... I don't care how much she costs in fuel and insurance, I just want her to be perfect! ;)

But nice thought!

Well, this is why I think I wanna get rid. i need to take pics, else I could put an ad up sooner.
I need to give her a wash n all...

I think everyone's missing the point about my lack of money.
I need to sell the car to fund something more reliable and boring and cheap; I can't put anymore money into it, or the issues it does have would be dealt with.

In any case insurance runs out next week so will put up an ad tonight, else she's going SORN on the ole driveway.
