It's either anodes or diodes at play here (can't remember), but the crux of it is that rust attracts rust
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

i know what you mean. when i got my sport many moon's ago there none around my way at all then a few months later another one pop's up for sale & in the last few years i've seen 3 different e30 round here
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

yes.many people don't know what car they like until they see an e30.
when i lived down south i had the only e30 on the block.within 3 months 2 more appeared,a 2 dr 18i bogo and a 320i touring.there are far more in southampton/pompey etc than up here.
Geordie rust has big teeth.glad i bought mine from the south.

m52 b30 stroker 6-speed 318is Galvanizer
m42 touring
+ a yard full of scrap turds
I think there might be something in this. Within days of buying mine a 318i started parking in the area, there's an E34 round the corner and I keep seeing a Baur in the local Tesco's carpark. Their all Alpine white like mine too. Spooky.
There's an Alpina parked nearby also but that one's grey.

Could it be that you've bought one because you like the shape etc, and now you're just noticing more?
I know it puts a smile on my face every time I see another cabby passing me. There's a really nice silver one that I've seen a couple of time going through the village.

i'm on my 4th e30, so got the shape ingrained into my psyche......can spot one from the top of a hirschmann aerial.......can almost sense them.....
i dunno. haven't yet got a wave from another e30 owner on the street or waved myself. what's the etiquette......are we meant to wave? we're a pretty special breed after all. do we give each other the horn?.....................
(you know what i mean)

I have yet to see one since I have had mine... Even driving around all over Leicester... There is an old boy who has a 318 who comes to the allotment at the end of my road, but its a rust bag. Other than that, I dont see them while i'm out...
I'm seeing more and more nice E30's in Jersey.
I've always seen them, but most are beige and bronze, decked up on bottle tops and so much rusted chrome it looks like just drove out of the sea. Oh, and obviously the classic OAP behind the wheel.
But since I got mine, I see more sports/sport alikes around the place and generally clean E30's. I even found an iX, I know where an M3 cabby lives, and a potentially fake RHD M3 too.

Uni is killing the project.

I think you just notice them more.
I passed three today, a red 320i chromie, and me and the girl wave to each other every morning
I then follwed a green touring, and then later passed a grey 325i. It was a good day for E30 spotting. A guy in an E32 waved at me as well.

i usually wave at passing E30's. most of the local owners now humour me and wave back.
some just look at me wondering why the feck i'm waving at them!
