A mate of mine just called me up (he's stuck abroad) as someone has just ruined one of his alloys while changing the tyres.
First they said they'll repair the alloy by sending it to Pristine. Then they changed their minds and said Spit and Polish in Kent.
Anyone used Pristine or Spit and Polish and do they do a good job do you know please?
It's actually not for his e30 but for his jag xk, so needs to be a good place.
As it's just 1 alloy will there be a colour match problem?
Many thanks for any help.
cheers, simon

Spit and polish are a bit hit and miss.
I've had to back wheels done by them before.
My work (BMW dealer) uses Lepsons although i've no personal experience with them.

used spit an polish a few times and personaly i'd say stay away unless its for quick refurb on set of wheels you dont care and will see the back of in the near future
it took 3 attempts to get some alpinas done right. i let them loose on a straight set of wheels i wanted done alpine white 3, and they came back cream. they re did them and after 4 months they started flaking
avoid avoid avoid because they are shit
pay a bit extra and get them done by lepsons / diamond styling / or even BJV
BJV's cost are similar to S&P but they last longer and have better customer service

Lepsons did my Alpina Softlines. Finish was very decent and has lasted well. (Expensive though).Rich_W wrote:Spit are OK. heard more good things about Lepsons though.

Lepsons for me too, both sets they have done for me have been fantastic. They did my BBS splits properly too and were one of the few that would actually split them, refurb and re-assemble. I have heard things about Spit and Polish being hit and miss in the past but no personal experience.
