he needs them to not rollertest the rear brakes as it could damage the LSD , its in the testing guidelines BTW

the MOT standards are low in comparison to other countries, tested by the book, most vehicles should pass, the key words are " acceptable" the problem there is by whoose standards ?

Can you got ask the garage not to use the rollling brake machine, they should have a braking force meter that they drive the car along, slam on the brakes and if its in the set perameters then it will pass. The parameters are also fairly helpful :D

I know this as you can't test 4x4 vehicles unless they have a 4 wheel drive ramp or a way of disconecting the 4x4. Go and voice your concerns with them, they may just say we won't bother with the rear wheels, depends how well you know your MOT garage i suppose.

Hope this helps a bit

I've just had my 325 Sport tested, see other thread it failed :-(

I pointed out about the LSD and he still used rollers, said it was OK, and this is a former BMW mechanic. It is a new test centre perhaps it depends on the type of rollers?

Hope nothing's broken, although at the moment that would be the least of my troubles.
