How do you go about valuing an E30?
Is it just a matter of comparitive searches on E30's for sale?
Buymycar.com offered £480 which was a bit cruel.
She's a E30 cabbie 325i 100k on clock. Bodywork and interior v. good. Fully serviced etc. Hood needs replacing (might do that myself but not sure if cost outweighs sales price).
Any info/ideas welcome.

I'm no expert but I'd be looking for £2k in the current condition and £2.5k with a hood in good condition.
1990 325i Cab auto in Alpine White II
1988 Alpina C2.5 moredoor in Black, 71k
1990 325ix, moredoor auto in Laser Blue. 51k
1984 Hartge H35 in Black
2004 996 C4S in Silver 43k manual
2006 Audi S6 V10 in Black 58k

I wouldn't pay anywhere near that...
webuyanycar seems to offer most E30 owners £90! So £480 from a competitor is great....
TBH, a stock E30 325i cab, with bottle tops, not so sort after colour, which needs the hood replacing... urm i'd say more in the region of £1.5k ish. Give or take... The more sort after models, colours and trims will pick up more money, sometimes regardless of actual mechanical condition.
But, a perfectly original E30 can fetch a fair amount from someone looking for a good'un. £2k tops if you are lucky.
There is now way to value these cars other than looking at the current trend.
Good luck with the sale!

I see white is the new silver for 2010. Looks like a good few 318is owners will soon have a trendy colourJon_Bmw wrote:Silver, although not a stunningly 'different' colour has a much wider audience than yellow, red, green etc. How many silver cars do you see on the roads? Yep, a lot.

I thought bronzit was the hip colour this year
The Old Colonel might offer you more, might be worth a call...
Is the hood watertight but scruffy? A new one fitted is upwards of £600, often nearer £800, so only really worth it if it leaks - you'll likely never get all the outlay back when the car is sold though. Mileage needs history to back it up or is meaningless. I'm guessing the spec is pretty low if it hs bottletops - no leather or OBC? £2k might be your limit, depending on body condition. Nice cabs are starting to fetch big premiums - if you have fsh and general VGC, you open it up to a whole host of non-enthusiast buyers, so the price goes up disproportionately compared with other e30s. Some otherwise non-descript cabs have been getting high 3s this summer for that reason. Obviously now is a pretty bad time to put a convertible up for sale - May/June/July is massively better, and prices really are seasonally affected.

buymycar.com?? can't find it anywhere,
like has been said it's the wrong time of year to put a cab up for sale wait till the start of next summer (if we get one) & if you still want to sell it serve it up then.
