I don't think you'll have any luck getting just the plastic part. The whole adjuster comes as an assembly and they are about £6 each. Total rip off!

£6 each 8O 8O

ive managed to adjust them with a pair of plyers and now ive relised that you can adjust them by turning the hydrolic headlight adjust thing aswell :x wish i had known at the mot then we may have got them near enough

hopefully it will go back in for test on saturday

And failed on the following

Nearside Headlamp Aim Too Low

Offside Headlamp Too Low

Advisorys ( although he said he is doing me a favor advising these but they should All really be on the fail sheet as most are badly fooked)

offside inner track rod end ball joint has slight play

Nearside Front suspension arm rubber bush has deteriation

Offside Front suspension arm rubber bush has deteriation

Nearside rear Subframe Bush Deteriorated

Offside rear subframe bush Deteriorated

He recons the rear subframe bushes have been like that for a few years as there basically they are non existant

Just going to go and sort the lights out now

:x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

A bit of a pain to do the bushes but the first advisory "
offside inner track rod end ball joint has slight play" is not a testable item can can only be an advisory item.

The first advisory states - offside inner track rod end ball joint has slight play. To me that reads to be the joint in the steering rack boot, not the one at the wheel end.

If that is the one the tester is meaning he CANNOT fail it for play in that joint as it is not part of the MOT checks.

Eccentric means off set and they are the M3 type that fit straight into std lollipops.
The visual difference is that the std lollipop bushes have voids and the M3 are eccentric and solid.

They adjust the caster angle make a vast difference in turn in. Improve handling vastly. As many bushes you can afford to change change mate. Bottom arms, trailing arm bushes, beam bushes, top mounts the more you change the better your car will feel. Thats what I have done so fingers crossed when it's finished it will feel brand new

Trailing arm bushes are where the trailing arms bolt into the rear beam. Bottom ball joint is on track control arm

That tester isn't much of a mate and in my humble opinion needs f*****g. He's quite happy to fail it on headlight adjustment and let vital suspension faults that could (in theory) get you killed, go as advisories. I'd have been happier if he'd done it the other way round.

well its better than having to replace everything for a re test

he knows i'am going to get it done, and has said it himself that i NEED to get it done straight away, and in fairness a headlight did fall out when he was playing with it :o:

then again.. it is an iS so the chances of it moving anything more than a snails pace are relatively slim.. a bit like a piece of paper?
