I drive a 318iS. I've read all the stuff about 'no torque', and 'need to rev the nuts off it' etc.

Hmm. One of the things I like about it (and the E30 M3 I used to have) is the fact that it will trickle around town in 3rd or 4th gear without any histrionics and when it does start to wake up a bit at 2500-3000 it goes quite well. Not fast, but well enough for an old nail. Cruising at 80 on the M'way, you can squirt it up to 110 quite easily and it sounds healthy enough. I also like the consistent 30+ mpg.

The 325i is also a good car, the emphasis being on 'good' of which there are not that many. They handle just as well as a 318iS, albeit a little more tail happy thanks to the extra grunt. The original metal bumper examples with the HC engine were VERY lively, better on fuel and sounded fantastic at full chat. The later ones were never as good.

Drwoningfool - don't be such a puss and stick to your crass style of abuse if that's how you want to communicate.

Though going by your logic, as you frequent this place far more than I when adjusted for the fact that you;re a noob, you must have gone blind a long long time ago.

There we go Ratchit. I have corrected a bit of spelling and grammar for you - you were clearly in such a blind fury as you pumped out that 6cc squirt of quasi-vitriol! Try not to treat your keyboard as you would treat your knob, and we'll get along famously.
Judging from the various personas you have here, it would appear that your life revolves around E30 Zone - and for that, I truly pity you.

So Young Man - hands off cocks, on socks - and find yourself a Lady to amuse yourself. :wan:

Are you the idiot who got seriously flamed and laughed out the place a few weeks ago for being a total knob?

What amuses me is, if I am in fact the sad lonely zone obsessed geek with no life, what does that make you for picking through my posts adding punctuation as you go lol!

FAIL.

I mean seriously, you should know by now that every time you reply you are just part of this nonsense.

By the way, your reply was a grammatical (and tasteless) disgrace, though it would be cheap and lame to sift through it and correct.

Jesus, this thread is hard work - I've just given up trying to find out where it went off topic and turned into a slanging match between people who know way too much about engines, power outputs and diffs etc. I didn't realise there was so much rivalry between the 4cyl and 6cyl brigades within our zone - I thought we were all one big happy family united by our love for an awesome car! Still - some of the responses are hilarious but I'm staying with my arse on the fence and getting on with doing my own thing...... 6cyl 2Ltr slowness btw....... :?

Christ Dave you fairly stirred up a churn of shite! 15pages!

I had a race on track against the iS in question before. I was in my "quick" iS with a 3.91, while he had the 4.10diff and 15's on the back. Couldn't decide which was quicker!

Its all down to diff ratio and wheel size, and who decided to boot it first.

i cant be arsed to read all 15 pages but i was also suprised by a 316i

i drove it briefly and i mean briefly the other day back to my grandads nexts door neighbours

it was a victim of the crappage scheme 1 owner full bmw service history owned by a doctor , i robbed the door (that magpie could supply ) toolkit and anything easy to take out , down low it was way better than my 320i but we all know about the 320i low down torque!
