I'm planning a road trip in August this summer in the e30 and will be heading roughly according to this route:

Aberdeen - London - Calais - Paris - Barcelona - Monaco - Nurburgring - Belgium (Finshing with three days at the grand prix).

What I'm looking for is scenic/famous roads that people have driven or recommend driving?

Anyone on here recommend some good places/ideas?

I will be doing a lap or two on the ring :)

Cheers.

Kirkstone Pass. M6 j.40 Penrith - M6 J.36 Kendal.

A592 Ullswater - Windermere. And if you're feeling flush, dinner at Sharrow Bay, Michelin ****ed goodness at the head of Ullswater.

And try to take in "The Struggle" from the pass down to Ambleside..... It gets no better.....

I'm not sure on famous roads but on the way from barcelona to monaco travel right through the south of france :D

If its anything like nice to monaco for that run for the most of it.... will be worth it. Looks amazing going round all the hills on the coast. Flew over it on my way to Nice, looks fantastic and wished I had a car there.

Enjoy your trip fella. Should be amazing. How long are you doing it for and keep us posted with some photies of your E30 traveling the world!

Wow... looks like I'm in for a right treat!!!

You weren't in your e30?

Been to Silverstone twice... mayhem both times!!

Drivin back from Silverstone to Aberdeen for 9 hours with a head like a rotten cabbage with the sound of those cars ringing through me ears... tis one I'll never forget... all to be done again :)

Becketts is an amazing corner... cant wait for eau rouge.

Was talking to a lad last night that did a similar route to what I'll be doing.... but in a Micra... mental case!

No rented a car while there, had a gutless pug 307, never really took it above third as there was no power in 4/5

However was good to rag the pants off and as had full ins with no access on it the dents and scrapes were covered

next time though i'm taking the cab :D

I would definately recommend the col de turini, part of this run was used in the rally montecarlo and it's a driving dream.. I have some photos, but looks very similar to the ones posted above..

copy and past this:

Col de Turini, 06380 Moulinet, Alpes-Maritimes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France

into the search bar at maps.google.com

All that area is good, but check out the road systems northst of the map - towards roquebilliere & flaut - we tracked them down & are well worth visiting winkeye

the alpine pass between switzerland and italy is also great, the one featured in the italian job, but that was being re surfaced when we arrived - you could still drive it, rocks an all..
