£27.50 + 15% VAT for a front wheel bearing Ed.
Not a hugely difficult job to do (assuming the little grub screw that holds the front brake disc to the hub isn't seized in or rounded off) it is just bolt on bits at the end of the day
1 hour labour tops!

Get one from Euro car parts and fit it yourself.
No more than about 30 mins to fit.
Engine conversions, Auto to manual conversions, parts, servicing etc etc... For anything e30 call 07718 901737

Correct, make sure you get one which is for an ABS equipped vehicle also.datourer wrote:Just to confirm, the wheel bearing is only available as a complete hub assembly? That's what the spanner monkey told me.

On looking at the GSF site, it seems to list the same part number irrespective of model.
I just phoned my local motor factors and the robbing gits wanted over £60 for one
Eurocarparts want £45.33 delivered next day to me

Yes indeed, this one has the ABS ring, a bit of heat and it'll pop straight offfuzzy wrote:ive only ever been able to buy hub/bearings with the abs ring attached. its easy to remove it if not needed.

gsf normally sell FAG ones, which are OEM.
non abs hubs are no longer available but it doesn't matter if you haven't got ABS it still fits a non abs strut with no problems

to be fair, although FAG made oem ones, SKF is the largest bearing manufacturer in the wrold...by a looong way, so much so that the likes of NSK even buy all of their steel from them
FAG NSK and SKF are all good bets, I wouldn't worry about it not being OEM

Total waste of money, I bought a pair of NSK ABS hubs from EuroCarParts earlier this year for under £80, when they arrived they were boxed NSK, but actually had SKF bearings fitted to the hubs.eltelturbo wrote:I paid £117 for mine from cotswold! will i get my moneys worth or should i have just got a cheapy one from gsf?
GSF ECP also sell even cheaper bearings but they are lower quality.
As has already been said, SKF/FAG/NSK bearings are top notch and are supplied to most manufacturers anyway, just because you buy the same part from the dealer doesnt make it any better
