I'm tempted to replace my '94 Touring with a 325 version. What's the newest one i could expect to find? I remember reading somewhere that 93 and 94 models were all 316 and 318?

Correct :) I have a loon 325i on a '92 so guess a touring would be simular. Is the body on your touring good? If so drop the M50 in, as in your sig ;)

The last e30 325's were made around march 93 and most of these would have been cabs.
The latest 325 touring i have seen was one i fragged a while back which was a Jan93/K.
The later they are the more they seem to rot in my experience.

1994-L plated 316 touring is quite common.
I understand BMW UK did some specials on a M plate. I think there was even a M3

I have a few L plated tourings, but they are all (or were) four pots. The latest factory built 325 I have is on a K.

Oh yes! Just look at the sills on my K plate 316i in the for sale section,I broke a blue L plater which was dangerously rusty for bits for the 'folly',which is an '88,and almost rot free!

Ive got a 316i 94 L plate and its like brand new underneath, no scabs or rust on the top side either.

My old 89 G plate was rotten in most places but very reliable.

Slightly off topic, there are a few Capri 280's which are on a G plate and also a H plate, David Tuson an old Ford dealer had the G plate one and added it to his collection of collectable Fords, I wonder if he still has them.

I saw for sale a G reg 280 capri back in 2001 in a Ford main dealer called Frank Watson, Croydon. It was up for £9995. They closed down about a year later.

I have also seen a J reg tickford turbo capri!

I can ring one with an E36 if you want, but you will have to etch the glass yourself.

a local ford dealer recently had a mintymint 280 brooklands in for a freshen up. the owner bought it just as they were going out of production as he's always wanted a new capri. he couldn't afford to run it at the time though so once the first years tax was expired, it was stashed in a garage. all covered in protective wax etc too.
it had 4000 miles on it when i saw it! 8O
ford were replacing the HT leads, tyres and anything else rubber that had suffered from age alone.

that has to be worth a few quid!

I've just checked and the last listing for RHD 325i Tourings is April '93.
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

Build date isn't registration date, though.
I bought a '90 registered 325, and when doing the usual ICE alarm/immobiliser wiring sort out, was surprised to find an ABS voltage protection relay tucked up above the glovebox. I put the VIN into the ETK, and found that the build date was about fifteen months before registration. Most unusual for an E30.
