Just wanted to put forward my view on the negative thread concerning the 325iX.. On contacting Buchanan Motors to verify any concerns I might have, and I must confess I did. However, on speaking to the owner of the garage concerned I TRUELY believe he offers a trustworthy service. I will be purchasing the 325iX in full confidence, :D ; we always put more weight behind negative comments true or falsely given as it is in our nature to be wary  .. Only those involved know the true situation. I will verify my findings after I return from collecting the car.. thanks for reading and the support offered.. David :)

m_jermyn I looked for that original post aswell but by the sounds of things Its been removed.

This is the ebay add your looking for: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0343953106

The original thread was quiet negative about the dealer (thesharkfactor), there were loads of contradictions about the way he thought, such as if he searched high and low for a car like that, why would he then go and sell it?? If the car has never come in contact with the wet or any salt, then how comes theres corrosion under the car??

Anyway, the fellow zoner that had previous dealings with him seemed pritty hurt, it was enough to put me off the dealer and the car!

Still, lets be optimistic eh........

Goodluck with the car mate... I have nothing against sharkfactor however I do feel its important to pass on any feedback that I have witnessed good and bad. Like I said the car look very good in the photos and I myself would love to own it.

If I was going to purchase a car and someone on here new the vendor I was buying it from was said to be dodgy, I would expect nothing else then someone to give me the heads up. Thats all I have done.

Seriously good luck with the car, he has more positive feedback then negative so the odds are in your favour.

I would think that there is a good chance this guy may be the most helpful seller ever on this now blatantly carefully over viewed transaction.

I know that if i treat any of my customers in work wrong then i want to know about it. And i will then do everything in my power, maybe even more than normal to make sure they have the best possible service.

m_jermyn it's cool to give people a heads up but you cannot suggest not to buy such and such car without substantial evidence.
Ta for your thoughtful replies thesharkfactor, I hope all goes well between you and buyer :)

it certainly will.

notice, sean (da4x4turbo) never mentions the £1500 he SAVED on book price by buying his 318ci from stephen.
he bought the car to sell.. it was a cheap car and thats why he came to glasgow for it. he wanted to play the motor dealer game, but couldn't cope with the consequences when it goes abit pear shaped. his radical claims that we had repaired the car in october we sold to him in novemeber, (this october repair thermostat, he says failed caused o'heating)..can easily be disproved, i can upload a scan of the invoice of that vehicle coming into stock in mid novemeber if anyone would like to see it.

i remember a telephone argument between him and stephen, he couldn't sell the car because paperwork was late (his 318ci was a trade-in, and the former keeper didnt have the papers at the time of sale, took ages).. he was upset he couldnt take his girl to the kings of leon concert because he had no money, all because of this car he couldn't sell or register..i see he sold the tickets on ebay, its on his feedback.. the big motor dealer in cork with no money to take his girl to a concert! :P

thats why he so angry..

he still saved £1500 on book price..

certainly not when your selling over 300 bits of old used machinery every year.

have you any idea how difficult it must be to maintain a solid and honest reputation on ebay when selling used cars?
especailly, when we cannot leave negative feedback when selling..its all in the buyers hands. we have sold many more cars on ebay than there is feedback for, not everyone leaves feedback..but they certainly do if theres a problem, thats for sure! so the figure of 400+ feedbacks is representitve of nearly 1000 good deals over the years.

for someone just to win an item and leave bad feedback is very poor. cowardly infact.. if they were a man, they would come and see us about it.. instead of hiding behind a pc.
blatant abuse of the ebay feedback system..its people like sean that give eaby a bad name.. not buchananmotors.

On the 7th of November 2008 I bought a 318ci off this conman.

I bought it in good faith n the promise that the paperwork was being processed and would be in hand approximately a week later.

I collected the car that night and Mark collected me from the airport in it.

At this point I'd like to point out that mark and steven are brothers and they collectively make up buchanon Motors.

Now, I collected the car and drove it back to southern Ireland which was prettymuch motorway all the way with a nice cool airstream over the radiator for the whole journey.

I got to ireland and waited a week or so and got in touch with steven to see what the story was with the paperwork...... It was being processed and would be along any day now. :?

So I duly waited a week and called again.. It would definitely be along shortly.

So again, being the trusting sort of guy I am I waited a fortnight and called again..... It took several phone calls and voicemails before steven would answer the phone and talk to me. He promised me the paperwork was in order and would be along soon. He would phone me asap and let me know what the story was.........

So again I waited, and after a fortnight or so there had been no contact. I tried to phone him again and guess what.... No reply. Despite countless emails, phone calls and voicemails.

I work for a global subcontractor to the oil industry (I'm an engineer) so the next time I was in our Aberdeen office I phoned him off a random number in the office.... He answered the phone immediately and proceeded to ring off as soon as he realised it was me. :x

So again following countless emails, calls and voicemails I got through on another random line from the office...... and this is how it went:

He told me that (and this is in his own words....)

He took the 318ci as a trade in off a F**king paki who bought a 5 series off him. The paki thought the 5 series was a 2000 but it actually turned out to be a 1999. (He was justifiably pissed off and refused to send on the paperwork without some sort of refund or otherwise. He was happy with the car but wanted some sort of compensation for the fact that the car was a year older than advertised)
Steven refused to accepth this and went so far as to tell me on the phone that he had threatened this "F**king Paki" that he would come through to Edinburgh and kick his fucking head in if he didn't forward on the paperwork.
He also told me that he would sort this out one way or another so that I should hold tight for the paperwork.

At this point I realised what sort of person I was dealin with so I initiated the process of getting the paperwork for myself. Whicjh is a total ball ache from the republic of Ireland as the DVLA wont issue a logbook outside the UK. You have to apply for a certificate of permanent export which takes a month at the very least.

So basically I had had the car for nearly 3 months at this point and still it wasn't in a state to be driven legitimately in the republic.

the cert duly arricved and i thought that I could finally say my peace and leave some bad feedback on ebay and at least have some sort of closure..... but it had been over 90 days since I bought it so I couldn't.

So I swallowed this bitter pill and re-registered the car and took it for a drive....... As soon as i encountered traffic in town the temperature needle shot up.... :?

So I investigated it and lo and behold the headgasket had failed, and to add insult to injury both the water pump and thermostat had been changed recently...... Both of them had a date stamped on the casting.... October 2008. :x :x

So needless to say I was f**king raging. Not only had this c**ksucker sold me this heap and strung me along for months regarding the paperwork.... He had also just cost me €1500 in repairs. :x :x :x

Eventually I got it sorted but it cost me more time, effort, heartache and grief than I could afford.... :x And needless to say it was impossible to get in touch with either of these two D**KHEADS.

So I decided that I'd do something about it. I added them to my favourite sellers list on eBay and played the waiting game. They duly listed an AMG Mercedes C36 and I bid on it and won. The sole purpose of this was to leave negative feedback. I won the car and pretended I'd come and collect it the next day. We agreed a meeting place and then I switched off the mobile I'd phoned off. (Luckily these muppets didn't recognise my username on eBay)

So I did this and left this feedback:
http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI ... dback:2:uk

I left the feedback and the comment was was removed by ebay. so I left a follow up and eBay removed that too. the comment was:
DIRTY ROTTEN LYING CHEATING SCUM, LIES LIES AND MORE DAMN LIES. AVOID AVOID.

Then Mark appeared on here. AKA thesharkfactor and tried advertising a white 325ix which he got a bit of a roasting over. I had a big part to play in this to be fair as I posted up what I've just written here so that other Zoners would know what kind of F**KING SCUMBAGS this pair are.

The general consensus regarding the 325ix was that it was well polished and looked well, but the photographs of the underside revealed that it had a bit of rust.

That's the general theme with buchannons cars though..... They all appear to be ok, but in reality their just well polished turds. the merc in question and the 318ci I bought in November both confirm this trend too. Have a look at the auction for the merc on eBay. The car has some serious stone chips on the front and some pretty serious rust which they attempt to play down in the ad. As for the 318ci... I have no proof other than my word. But all I can do is tell you my side of the story and hope you believe me.

Oh and mark Himself confirmed on here that they are autoglym trained valeters.

So mark got the hump and posted on here about how he had hundreds of satisfied customers.... and then posted this link to his other ebay acount which had "glowing feedback"
http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI ... MEFSX:FDBK

However if you read this feedback they have 6 Negatives, 2 Neutrals and a positive in which the buyer was promised a refund if he left a good remark. Needless to say there was a follow-up saying that this never happened. :x
Oh and this is just in the last 12 months. Theres a multitude of others previous to that.

Also in a glaring demonstration of what type of people these two are they go so far as to personally insult some customers who felt they have been cheated..... Also the general theme of their comments and follow-ups is that they cant be held accountable for the condition of stuff thats older.... :x

I think I've covered pretty much everything here that I can remember..... Nedless to say though I'll remember something else as soon as I've posted this comment.

The previous thread on here relating to this 325ix is here:
http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... 73#1465973
But it has been deleted. I apologise to the moderators if they think I've crossed a line wiht this thread but I had to say my peace.

My advice is that everyone should stay away from these W**KERS, but all I can do is tell as many people as possible about what they're like and hole that I will be listened to.

I'm pretty new to the zone but I hope that what I have posted so far will be an indication of what sort of person I am and that people will take what I say seriously.... I wouldn't go to this much effort for no reason. I really got f**ked over by these guys. :?

Thanks for taking the time to read this. :D

the feedback system is wide open to abuse and ebay care very little.. when you raise an issue with them, all you get is a standard drafted email treating you like a infant "enlightening" you to the concept of their system with some unhelpful links to feedback thier faq's. most unhelpful.

we bend over backwards to please, but you cant get it right all the time, shit happens, machines fail..we try put it right..even if it results in a win/lose situation in favour of the buyer.. we have to protect our feedback and reputation no matter what.

we can all see the damage one unhappy customer can do.. i have gone to some length to try and prove our integrity and salvage what little respect i may have left on the forum and im glad i have been given the opertuninty to do so.
just imagine if there really was 100's of da4x4turbo's out there.. we'd be finished by now! lol. what would our feedback page look like?.. infact, ebay would shut us down within weeks if our customer service was so bad!

i dont hang out here often.. but i am an e30 enthusiast..anyone can see that from the obvious passion and work that has gone into the advert for the 325ix.. not all of my cars get that special attention. im always looking for e30 to play with.. but i cant keep them.. im a dealer! i have my fun in the 2 or 3 weeks i own them. i get to express myself with them, the pinnacle of my talents poured into one vehicle. all the other cars are just work.. the e30's are a passion.

(see the £2500 1/5 scale m3 i hand built in my signiture below for proof!)

Just read the comment about the Kings of Leon....

Nice touch trying to discredit me like that. Needless to say the guys on here all know I'm an engineer and have been driving an E92 all along. Which I just sold on to free up some money to use as a deposit on my first house..... I've also just been sanctioned for a €300k mortgage which in the current climate is pretty decent. The banks having seen my payslips and bank statements seem to think I'm a pretty good bet. I'm only 26 after all....

I have also been single for over 2 years and there's several users on here who know me personally that can confirm this.

The kings of Leon did in fact play in Ireland in december... I went to the concert, then the next day went to Barcelona for a few days with the lads for a holiday. Then upon my return I went to the west of Ireland to a 4 star house on the coast which I'd rented to celebrate christmas with my family.

So the implication that I'm some broke chump that's at home sobbing because I couldn't go to a concert as a result of playing with the bigger boys is just more proof of what level you loosers will stoop to in an effort to come out smelling like roses  :?

as you say.. you bought a car.. the papers were held up.. by your own admission you had the car 3months.. 3months, then all of a sudden its overheating.. hardly our problem 3 months later..it drove you home just fine and was fine for 3months and however many miles. so the main issue here, as i described above..is you waited for paperwork.. big deal. hardly ripped off or conned..an no reason to try and destroy my reptuaion and poison our potential customers. childish and selfish behaviour.

Oh and if you are in fact honest dealers of prestigious and performance vehicles... Why do you only have a model of an M3..... Why not the real thing?

Because you're con artists who live from hand to mouth and rely on ripping off as many suckers as possible as quickly as possible.

You're pretty eloquent and you're also a pretty decent valeter.... But this recession has squeezed dodgy f**kers to the edge of the market and hopefully it might be enough to get rid of you alogether.

You're the epitome of a dodgy used car salesman.... you're just blessed with an ability to dress it up a bit.

Oh and for someone who"doesn't hang out here often".... you seem to have been sitting by your keyboard waiting all night for this..........

I'm going to make one final comment on this... My friend has an expression:

"Arguing on the internet is like competing at the special olympics.... You might win. But you're still retarded"

I've said what I want to say and quite frankly you're not worth the time or effort required to continue this tit for tat bollox. It's up to the other zoners on here to decide what to believe.

Goodnight folks. :D

What an epic, all for the sake of stating the obvious.

"Buyer beware", if you want to buy something costing a lot of
money; examine it first then offer what you think its worth
and if you later realise you were wrong don't moan. I was
always told "you don't hear a fishmonger crying stinking fish
for sale".

Both of you have said your peaces now. You have compleatly swamped the thread with replies to each others bickering, think you should knock it on the head now.

Unpleasant racist and discriminatory reading from both sides.
