heres one i made earlier..

Image

its nearly 1metre long! 1/5 scale 4x4 26cc petrol engined MCD rally car, nearly 7bhp.. cost me over £2500 to build! i custom made the body, with working lights and all details. you wont see another like it.. the body was produced circa 1990's used on 1/5 scale FG modellsport touring cars.. out of production many years ago..
i pestered FG in germany for a shell.. it took months, but they eventually got the mould out and pressed me an m3 shell! i spent months making it. the shell came in 3 pieces, clear unpainted lexan plastic.. NO decals or lights..nothing. its all my own work.

this was my pride and joy.. now sold :(

it was real good fun.. i started off with a tamiya tt-01 and it led to this, lol! all said and done, thousands spent, the wee 4x4 tamiya drives exactly the same and is just as much fun!.

I bought an original Tamia one in about 93? i think its in my mums loft, was great fun- you could remove the 4wd bar to make it rwd

Did mine silver and the graphix kit is probably still in the box.

If its the first run on the batch, sounds like it could be, and in excellent condition, it could be worth up to £300 now if not more.
If you have the Driver in there too you'll be looking at £500, but that's in "MINT" condition.

keep meaning to get a rereleased one of those too just to bring back the memories :D
I had a Lunchbox! Ended up modified despite there being virtually feck all parts for them!

Bought a re-release M3 kit in 05. Never built it.

Here's a TT-01 chassis kit, no radio, battery or speed controller though -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0324754394

Think they must still make them in China or Hong Kong.

I also used to have a TA-01 with a 155 bodyshell, I think the TT-01 is pretty similar. Good but let down by plastic suspention components, friction shocks etc. You can upgraded bits if you want though.

It's easy to put together.
Have you done one b4?
I ask as you have to cut out the body and there is a way to do it rather than cutting with scissors.
If you have any problems on this, give me a shout.
Last thing is you don't want to fook up the body

CAREFULLY!!!!!!

You'll need a new craft knife with blade.
On the body, you'll see the outline of the wheelarch, body etc.
What you need to do is SCORE the knife along that edge all the way round without deviating from the outline.
If you slip and score of the line, don't worry, come back to that point from the opposite direction.
When you've scored the body, cut upto one line with scissors, then start to peel along the line.

Practice abit first on the bottom part of the body which is going to be discarded, and you'll see what i mean.

Then paint it.
Best to buy the rattle cans from a model shop as they "Etch" into the plastic and won't peel.
