Hi Craig
Not meaning to hijack your thread but, how's the 2.7 going?
Did you ever get your E30 Zone Gold Star for removing the 2.7 when the weather was a touch inclement?
The scrappies had a whail of a time trying to pull the touring up onto the lorry, the prop shaft kept on turning after they had strapped it up through the gear stick shaft onto one of the seats!

Ask the guys at Big Bavarian Beauties. They sent my replacement engine and gearbox down to Plymouth on a pallet.

head bolts,
water pump,
oil pump,
exhaust gasket,
rocker gasket,
lightend flywheel,
schrick 288/288 cam , so it's going well, well it will be when i put it in to my new tourer,

I got two M42 engines and boxes sent over to me in Southern Ireland. It was through an Irish company. They picked them up. Cost €140. Once the engines are drained and secured well on the pallet it's no hassle. If you want the number I'll pm it to you.
