Right I’ve had a good look around my new E30 and as far as I can see it’s not got any terminal rust, the scuttle and engine bay are good as are the sills and the arches, not had a good look underneath but from what I have seen it look good including the jacking points.
Are there any other less known rust spots that can end the life of an E30?
Also what of the above areas I’ve already mentioned are the most deadly to an E30 so I can try and keep on top of it.

Check around and under the battery trays - there's one up front and in the rear on the o/s.
There's also some grommets in the bulkhead that can let water into both footwells, The best way to check these is to get the carpet peeled back and look for traces of residue down the firewall. This ends up collecting over the jacking points and towards the transmission tunnel.

Tack the rear cards out if it is a 3 door and check dawn the bottom in there. Whee the wheal arch, sill and floor all joins together.
Yer i am sorry for my bad spelling. i am dislexic and find it just as hard to read your posts as you do mine.

Roof, around the sunroof tray.
Rear panel under the boot seal and around the number plate lights.
Inside the OS rear arch in about the fuel flap, filler and expansion tank.
Battery tray (as mentioned above).
Under the fuse box in the engine bay.

As you can tell. You could realy do with looking at every peas of mettle that makes your car. If you won't to have and know you have a rust free e30 it needs stripping and pooting back together. With rust provention at the top of the jobs list if you are not finding rust.

Put the sunroof in the TILT UP position and with a torch look into the roof where the sunroof panel goes when in the SLIDE BACK position. Rust can form inside the roof and sunroof tray and is expesive to repair PROPERLY.
