Hi all

I've just picked up a 1988 325iSE that I will shortly be tearing to pieces for track use.
I'm currently working through what will be moved/removed and I'm a bit stuck with a button. I've had one E30 previous to this but it didn't have it and with no handbook, I'm at a loss to find out what it's for.

Around the gear gaitor, there are the four window buttons, the rectangular lock button for windows on the top right hand side, but another square button on the top left hand side. What's that one for?
It doesn't appear to do anything when pushed so I have no idea.

IIRC it's a 'child lock' button for the rear electric windows - press it and then try the window switches on the back doors, they should be disabled.

The window lock button for the rears is the rectangular switch on right hand side though, isn't it?

I'm not near the car at the moment so I can't put up a picture.

And it's NOT a switch, and shouldn't be used as one!!
It's a resettable overload cut out.

What's going on here? Someone's edited my posts. Fair enough there were factual errors, but I didn't claim to be talking gospel so why the thought police?

Only 4 door cars have the second,r/h,square switch.Simply cuts out the rear windows to stop the kiddies and pensioners from playing with 'em.

Don't get paranoid! Just me hitting the 'edit' button by accident, instead of the 'quote' button (again).
