just gone to tax my cabby and cannot find my log book ,do dvla charge for replacement log and how long does it take them.

yeah its like £25 i think or something and it took them 2 weeks to get mine to me

you can get a form from the post office for that

you can tax it online so can do it without. If youve got the renewal notice, you may even be able to do it at a Post Office but not too sure on that one.

you need to fill in v62 at post office and pay a fee , i think its £22 or 25 , and they will tax it there and then and dvla will send new v5 ( log book ) :D

dont they usually also ask for the number on the renemal notice as an alternative when taxing online?

I'm sure you don't need the V5 when taxing online. All you need is on the renewal notice.

That is correct, but if you dont have the renewal notice i think you need the V5 number.

Correct .You can tax your car wih the reminder .
If you dont have the reminder you will need the document reference number off your log book , Did mine today :wink:
