this is very true..SUMPCRACKER wrote:If you dont do it somone at somtime will.....you may as well.
I've read somewhere that the only very early E30's worth loads of money and hotly saught after by collectors are the original press cars of which not many are left.
The car you have is very solid although spec-wise a bit bland. If you have all the bits there, you could create a very interesting motor out of it, although if it was mine, I'd keep it looking pretty much as it does on the outside. I love the colour. The bottletops & chrome appear to be in very good condition.
Have you got any pics of the bits u're proposing to mod it with?

Have a look at the Old Colonels website! I agree a zoner is unlikely to pay that kind of cash for this sort of car, but there are folk out there looking for this kind of thing. It seems barely imagineable that there are those out there who hanker after old Princesses and Landcrabs and will pay silly money for that sort of tat, but they do exist in numbers, as do those seeking original early e30s almost regardless of spec, which I think we can all agree are far better than hulking old BMC nonsense.E30Gheko wrote:2.5k for this? No offence meant or intended here but who is likely to pay that for this car? I doubt very much that anyone off the Zone would cough up that sort of money and we are the nation's E30 enthusiasts!!

The bits I would be putting in/on are as follows:E30Gheko wrote: Have you got any pics of the bits u're proposing to mod it with?
2.5 high compression engine, scrubbed and painted with fresh silver and black high temp paint:
Running facelift management (loom, ecu, intake, crank pulley & sensor)
BBR Star chip
Magnex 6 branch manifold.
Magnex stainless exhaust system.
Magnacore HT leads.
Just serviced with brand new manifold/sump/rocker gaskets, spark plugs, cambelt, tensioner, water pump.
I've not got them yet, but I'm thinking of installing E36 M50B20 injectors (4 pintle design).
Close ratio sports gearbox and 3.91 Limited Slip Diff.
AC Schnitzer bodykit and decals. Although I'd probably go without the rear spoiler at first to see how it looks. Here's a few pics of my old car before i scrapped it due to terminal rot. Try to imagine it without the crap wheels and the chrome arches!

15" BBS alloys, freshly painted.
Shadowline.
Heated black leather sports interior. Not mint, but presentable. I'd actually consider dying it navy seeing as the carpet in the car is blue, and mint.
ACS Steering wheel and gearknob.
get cracking... you said it yourself you scrapped your last one to terminal rot... says it all
Yup, that's the facelift ACS kit - I've got the same front and rear spoilers on my 318i.hubble wrote:Liking the spoiler Alyman. Reminds me of this beauty. Fully kitted 2.5 ASC car at Harewood
The rear spoiler is the same on the pre and post kits, and the sideskirts look the same too. It's just the front and rear valance that change between pre and post.

your car is very similar to my silver 320ise prefacelift coupe.
mines manual so bit more fun and has better spec, still standard at mo
id go with the engine change etc its not like it will be cut about, might aswell lower it thats nothing you cant change back and add some nice wheels.
but externaly i would keep it looking as it is, it looks sweeter that way imo, personaly i like the facelift cars with kit the early ones without.
to be honest it will prob be worth more as a mint standard looking 325 manual then a 320 auto.
mines pretty clean and low miles, and i desperatly want to get it dropped on some better wheels, not sure if im goin to put a bigger engine in or not yet, ive got 6 cars and i use it more for crusing around then drifting lol

Just do it! I would...
Admittedly thats because pov-spec is what I want. Non electric everything = less weight, so ideal for a track car. As it is, my E30 has electric everything, windows, mirrors and sumroof! (aerial-less)
For the fact its so ridiculously clean and rot-free, I would. Although you might find that once you start stripping it down you find hidden stuff. Mildly crunchy jacking points, rear seatbelt and fueltank mounts, etc etc. Trust me, it happens! One of my fuel tank mounts wouldn't undo, so had to rip it out. Would never have known without removing the rear seats and started digging at the sound proofing!
