I would like to get my fairly recently purchased project back to completely original. Before I go down the buy/sell bits route, I am wondering if there was anyone who would prefer these bits and is willing to spend a day with a socketset swapping bits over.
If it makes a difference, car is an ex-320i cab now fitted with an M30. I am based 10 miles west of Swindon.
- Lowered springs/shocks, and am looking for normal OEM stuff.
- 17" 5 spoke TSW alloys in black, wanting 14"/15" BBS or decent bottletops
- Aftermarket, fairly loud exhaust - want quiet and standard
- Alpineweiss2 bootlid with spoiler/3rd brake light, want standard with no spoiler.
- Tinted front indicators, and side repeaters. Want standard amber
- Black kidney grill, want standard silver
- White bumpers, want chrome.
- Kenwood CD player, would like OEM Blaupunkt or similar
- Alpinewiess2 chin spoiler, think the original one would have been black/unpainted.
Thought I'd ask, just in case there was someone out there. Happy to do money either way depending on values/conditions of things.
Cheers,
Martin.

how refreshing to see someone going the other way with modifications.
have most bits you want but i am 10 miles from Manama, but i am sure you will have someone biting your arm off. Personally i would keep the springs/shocks on there.

Not in the market for any of those bits, however nice to see de-councilling going on - post some before and after pics when you've finished !

I've got a complete set (5 in total) bottle tops all in good nick. Tyres are old so will need replacing due to sidewalls having cracks. Will do a stright swap if you'd like and i'll come to you!
some pics of your car will help.magpie wrote:i have all trhe lenses in orange.

I bet bottletops on a 3.5 E30 would give "interesting" handling

It is on bottletops already, but they have been hand painted black and look very, very council.capri_rob wrote:I bet bottletops on a 3.5 E30 would give "interesting" handling
Handling could definately be described as interesting, with M30 torque, 14" economy tyres, and low firm ride. Still, I use the car as a relaxed cruiser rather than a track weapon, so ultimate handling is not required. I imagine it left the factory on bottletops, so I am happy to use a better set, but I'd fit some better rubber for sure.
@magpie, no idea if the tints are DIY I'm afraid. Some pics of the car are on this thread if you fancy taking a look - http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... highlight= . I want to wait and see if anyone closer has more of the substantial bits too, will come back to you if not.
Cheers,
Martin.

Here you go. They say ET35 and PCD100 on the back, they are 4 stud and I believe they were silver originally. That is all I know about them.no2lurch wrote:pics of your wheels please. i got 15 inch bbs at the mo...

I will (once the headgasket is finished and I'm back from holiday) happily come down, give you a shiney chrome grill, swap my indicator lenses and repeaters for the tinted ones.
I also have standard 318iS (apparently 15mm lower, but still look standard to me) front shocks and springs, rear shocks and springs. Both rear shocks need new top mounts, if you're interested and want to swap, I'll try to get some for you. One front needs a new top mount too I think due to a bolt snapping, if memory serves. Would also try to do that. My front shocks are in struts with standard discs on, would swap the whole lot for yours, as both sets will be 51mm. (and easier to swap struts than just shocks).
My car is red, I can also swap the boot if you want, I have NO preference either way, but mine has the small rubber spoiler on the rear. (guessing your car is white, so doesn't really apply).
I can't help with the exhaust (unless you want me to get one from a good 6 pot in a scrappy beforehand, or a mate), or the bumpers, or the cd player, valance/chin, wheels.
MIGHT be able to sort some other bits if I do it with a mate.
I'm away from the 17th till the 24th, hopefully get my car running on the 25th, and if you're still wanting, I should be free. Pm me if you're interested.
In my defence and willingness to council my car, I am genuinely not bothered either way, the 15" BBS are staying, as are the rare 15" ATS classic style alloys. Just happy to help!

That's pre-facelift with plastic bumpers. Remember this car popping up recently.citizensnips wrote:just wondering can you fit chrome bumpers too it? is it a facelift?
OP: Chrome bumpers are usually quite pitted. Non-BMW chrome ones tend to rust after 3 or 4 years, I'm led to believe. A mate once had a white cabby, metal bumpers which were colour coded. Looked fantastic in white paint.
Good luck with your work.
Oh, try for BBS wheels mate, the extra width will pay off!
