Unfortunately mine is another of the E30's with a cracked dash which is completely letting down the interior.

Does anyone have a spare uncracked dash that they could fit for me?

I can travel with cash depending on location.

I can also pass tools and make a good brew, just not too confident on doing the whole thing myself!

I'm in Reading.

If you're in Southampton then I wouldn't mind travelling. If you're in Newcastle then it might be a problem!

Do you have a spare dash or would I have to source one myself?

Mine has torn above the glovebox. I think this is where most of them crack due to heat.

Magpie, how much would you be able to supply and fit it for?

Dash swap is straightforward, there is a piccie guide in the wiki, main snag is that most of the interior above the carpet has to come out.Working sensibly in a logical manner will see the job done in half a day or so.Most problems after a dash swap seem to come from the wiring being disturbed in the area of the column switch connectors,so care needs to be taken here to avoid snags.

i usually find the worst bit is sorting out other peoples attempts and bodges on the various looms behind it. Heater box and lighting loom seem to be favourites to tap into

sorry for the slight hijack

i was only looking at my dash yesterday the tiny little split has grown big enough to see in the suspected place, is there anything that can be done to a mint dashboard to prevent it from splitting what is the going rate for a dash?

Cheers

Get one of those sun shields to protect it in the summer, that should stop it cracking.
