what is the avarge price of the 318is
well mine cost £500 with 7month tax and 12month MOT and its immaculate ive seen worse cars sell for 1k, there is some pics in the photogallery from novemeber time
mick (magpie) also got another bargin for £350 and didnt cost him much to put it tho and MOT from what i can remember ,but usually they sell for a minimum £800+ unless you are prepared to wait, a good one usuallys costs above 1k unless your lucky like me and magpie
Nothing to prove here pal... Really don't give a 4-Xmagpie wrote:i'll give you a run for real on feb 1stGortour wrote:Mine's auto too Mick...magpie wrote:you must've thrashed it in 3rd uphill.

Why bother racing? If my car's slower than yours, so what?
I'm sure your kids will feel safer if you're not trying to beat me too.

Get a 320i..... bear with me..
A good nick (even 4 door if you dont mind them) will generally be easier to find. Common thing is now everyone snaps up the good 316i/318i for the bodies/shells and spares. The 318iS is often a tad more expensive, lived a harder life etc.
A more door 320i is still a nice car. They do drink but not a serious amount more than the others. But you'll find it easier to get a cheap minter IMO. Also makes the conversion to a 325i that little bit easier. A perfect 320i 4 door + decent 325i engine and suspension off here or a scrap car and a weekend or two of work should see you out with more spare cash than getting a 325i of a similar nick. And do you really want a baby 4 pot? A good 320i is such a nice car to drive. And if insurance is a problem then hey, gives you a bit more time on your hands to scout for the perfect engine for when the time comes!
Its all about 6 cylinders
!
Either way good luck fella, but i'd probably be strange and look for a mint 316 chromie with a nice M10 engine. They're not too bad. 316i are quite under powered as said before. Never had the pleasure of driving or being in a 318i and neither a 318iS (but i've heard they're overrated by iS owners (coz they aint got a real sport
)!)!
