Awesome drivers car, but prefer the look of the standard M3! Exhaust and Spoiler were horrible on the Hartge!

Nope. I like the car in the link but I actually would rather have an E30. I'd settle for a nicer one than I currently own tho!

I prefer the E46 over the E30, my own E30's put a smile on my face but for day to day the E46 wins hands down.

Would I swap my E30 for that? Stupid question really but Baz666 answered it perfectly

I think the perfect solution to that question is Theo's project E30 right here: http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... c&t=119205

It does the 280 km/h (174 mph) that that H50 does in the video and it sounds good too no question (not V8 though). If it will beat the e46 H50 in 0-62 mph and onwards, well I wouldn't say no straight away as it is lighter, but if not, fit a 6 speed gearbox from a e34 M5. 8)

I haven't tried a e46 but I have e90, and yes you can find some of the essence of the e30 by pushing it in the corners, but my standard 320i from 1988 is so much more fun than that 320D e90 i tried, and with the right tires almost just as quiet, so my pick would be Theo's when he's done.

Can't say the E46 does it for me.. regardless of power. If it was that that I was looking for, I'd be looking at a different brand (or an E30 transplant? :D ). E46 just screams rep-mobile to me, regardless of the guise.

Ian

An E46 M3 is an awesome bit of kit on its own, I would wager that if more people had driven one then the answers would be more positive

Displacement: 4941 cc
Horsepower: 394 bhp @ 6600 rpm
Torque: 369 lb-ft @ 3800 rpm
but id still have it. :D

Would I rather keep my E30 or have a E46? - The E46 for sure.

Would I rather have a totally sorted and mint E30 or the E46? - E30 for me. I just prefer em. It's not about which is the better car. That's a different question and there could only be 1 clear winner. It's a matter of preference. :D I'm very fond of E30's and have been for many years. Any newer car is unlikely to change that regardless of how good it is.

The wife's 330 touring has just eaten a set of rears (245/45/17 Michelin Pilot Sport) in 8000miles. Feck!
I put Dunlop SP9000 on my E30 the same day. 4000 miles later they look nicely scrubbed in.

I don't know what this means but I thought I'd share :)
