Unlike most iS drivers though, I'm not deluded into thinking my car is a scaled down DTM racer, I just know where it eccles and where it fails, miserably...
Not in E30s any more

this one is one of the last preludes
Dont want to be joining into a this cars faster than that one etc etc
But i have owned a prelude and currently got a 325 and i no which one was the quicker car.
Also had the baby brother of a prelude (crx) and that would wipe the floor with my 325, just my 2p

A lot of the bother was before the firm started. The guy who set it up got banned off here and other forums for taking money and not supplying.e30bmlover wrote:yes there was fuzzy!!fuzzy wrote:wasnt there a lot of bad press regarding these guys?
I was one of many that got my fingers burnt. The words bargepole and would not touch come to mind, but then I'm biased and bitter and twisted old fart...
Recently got a mild chip for my 325 auto from Speedtouch. Had the thing fitted within three days of ordering it. Very impressed.

Chips are only any use with fish! A total waste of time on 2.5's & 2.7's - i have the dyno graphs to prove it!!
My most recent sport made about 160BHP with an "Alpina C2.5" copy chip and a BBTB, back to standard and it made 170BHP!
My 2.7 made 185BHP with a 2.7 chip and guess what it made with a standard ECU - yep exactly the same!!
Waste of money IMO.........

I had one on my early 2.5 lump to start with (jason c uk) I'm sure he is still around. It just moved all the values up to the top end of the rev range which was good for me, however all low down grunt was not as good as the o/e setting. When I had the live map done it made a big difference alround and was much better. But a map/ chip on it's own won't do much anyway. Get the car breathing properly first and then get it mapped as it will make a huge difference then. Were as if you go the other way with a map first when you do the rest it will just need doing again anyway.neamem wrote:there used to be a company called chipped uk that done some chips for the e30s. are they still around. reasonable prices iirc and people seemed happy with them. was tempted to get one to stick in my 325.
Right.... erm..
I shall admit to buying one of those chips off ebay. The first chip he sent, didnt work. The car stutterd from anything below 3000RPM, but after that... it did drive so much better.
I contacted the seller, and he was really helpful, and he sent me two others, one which was the same, but the 3rd one worked. To be fair... the difference isnt really noticable, below 3000 its defo not. But rev it higher and there is a slight change, the revs build quicker, and its a fair bit smoother over the 4000rpm power hike bit.
But in all honesty... im saving for a Evolve chip.

Nice to hear you got a slight bump in power then M8, It's always nice when you get easey people to deal with on ebay too. Was it easey to change?
