I tend not to give the traffic light GPs a go, as I know my little 4potterer will fail against most things. When the usual suspects are out on the twisty bits though, that's when it gets interesting :D
such as skylines and subarus..

Unlike most iS drivers though, I'm not deluded into thinking my car is a scaled down DTM racer, I just know where it eccles and where it fails, miserably...
Not in E30s any more :(

yes there was fuzzy!!
A lot of the bother was before the firm started. The guy who set it up got banned off here and other forums for taking money and not supplying.

I was one of many that got my fingers burnt. The words bargepole and would not touch come to mind, but then I'm biased and bitter and twisted old fart...

Recently got a mild chip for my 325 auto from Speedtouch. Had the thing fitted within three days of ordering it. Very impressed.

i thought so but i wasnt wanting to say anything in case i was mistaken but even though it happened before the company was set up it shows the sort of person your dealing with and i wouldnt touch them either , just in case.

Chips are only any use with fish! A total waste of time on 2.5's & 2.7's - i have the dyno graphs to prove it!!

My most recent sport made about 160BHP with an "Alpina C2.5" copy chip and a BBTB, back to standard and it made 170BHP!

My 2.7 made 185BHP with a 2.7 chip and guess what it made with a standard ECU - yep exactly the same!!

Waste of money IMO.........

neamem wrote:there used to be a company called chipped uk that done some chips for the e30s. are they still around. reasonable prices iirc and people seemed happy with them. was tempted to get one to stick in my 325.
I had one on my early 2.5 lump to start with (jason c uk) I'm sure he is still around. It just moved all the values up to the top end of the rev range which was good for me, however all low down grunt was not as good as the o/e setting. When I had the live map done it made a big difference alround and was much better. But a map/ chip on it's own won't do much anyway. Get the car breathing properly first and then get it mapped as it will make a huge difference then. Were as if you go the other way with a map first when you do the rest it will just need doing again anyway.

Right.... erm..

I shall admit to buying one of those chips off ebay. The first chip he sent, didnt work. The car stutterd from anything below 3000RPM, but after that... it did drive so much better.

I contacted the seller, and he was really helpful, and he sent me two others, one which was the same, but the 3rd one worked. To be fair... the difference isnt really noticable, below 3000 its defo not. But rev it higher and there is a slight change, the revs build quicker, and its a fair bit smoother over the 4000rpm power hike bit.

But in all honesty... im saving for a Evolve chip.
