hi there, iv recently bought my first e30 and love it but its got a couple of problems which are very annoying. The wipers dont go fast enough(for my liking) on there fastest setting, and the seatbelts well the drivers anyway has a very keen ratchet mechanism which likes to strap me to my seat like a racing harness.
I dont know whether these cars are allways like this it is an old car after all (90) and im being fussy or i need to spend some cash :(
also whilst im here it also has another very annoying problem, if i drive say at 40 in 5th just resting on the throtle the car starts to kangaroo and feels like its misfiring badly only iv now fitted a new engine (gearbox and prop) and it still does it, iv also fitted new rear subframe bushes. I have a feeling it could be a problem with the propshaft but im not sure.

if anyone can be botherd to give me any advice i would be very greatful.
and sory about my writing spelling isnt my friend.
thanks ian

No, the wipers arent that fast
Your seatbelt is in fine working order, don't bolt about the car and it wont lock in place.
As for the juddering I'm sorry to say but you appear to have a vacuum leak from somewhere.
Bollocks to this 24v scrap!

All 3 of my E30's juddered like,the Touring still does,despite like you,it now has a different engine,4th at 40mph,no problem :D

As for your wipers,if they are really slow, you can mess about rebuilding the motor,or for very little cash replace it with a second hand one, don't leave it like I did............

The mobile rings.... "It's me (my missus) the cars on fire"
Me: "What?????"
Missus: "There's smoke pouring out by the windscreen"
Me: "Is there flames?"
Missus: " No just smoke and it stinks"

Anyway, the motor had seized and gotten so hot it self destructed, minimal damage luckily to the surrounding area, but it could have be considerably worse!

Change the motor as soon as to avoid the same scenario!

Look in the parts section here for one,or PM Spadge or Jonb.

Welcome to the world of E30 :D :D

anywhere around the inlet manifold
with the engine running spray carb cleaner in places where you think it may be leaking
if the revs rise on a certain spot theres the leak!
