ebay hid kits
Moderator: martauto
Not used one but will be buying one next time I need new headlight bulbs. I've heard people on here say good things about them and that they're all pretty much made in the same factory. Defo go for one of the cheaper ones from HK or the like... You can get them for about £15 plus post IIRC
Yep ive got some fitted, brilliant light output and easy to fit.... Just do it, you will wonder how you managed on the standard set-up.
I have the 6000K 'council spec' with a blue tinge, the 4300K are not blue and appear to give slightly more useable light but once you have them fitted make sure you take it to your local friendly MOT garage to have the beams set properly.

Say goodbye to using your mainbeam![]()
Mine are 4300 but wish id have gone the council 6000 route
The light output difference is quite a lot
A pair of replacement burners should be under £20, im in no hurry to change mine though and the police havent pulled me over for a 'little chat' about them yet because theyre aimed slightly low untill the electric levelers are up and running (i managed to crack the pcb in the switch so theyre either full up or full down at the moment)Jhonno wrote:Ive got 6k and wish I had 4.3k..eko wrote:HID upgrade is a must for the cost.

Theyre HID LOOK!! (blue tinted) halogens, real hid's are about 3X as bright and the tell tail is when theyre turned on they flash, then dim down and then over a few seconds come back up to full brightness as the burners heat up
how long did they take to arrive ? as i think after reading the replys i will go for the same setliquid079 wrote:Mine are these

A colour temperature of 6000K is a colour temperature of 6000K.town325i wrote:there are two different types of 6000k bulbs one set are blue and the other are ice white i no this becuase i have both
If you have two bulbs rated at 6000K which are a different colour to each other, one of the manufacturer's is lying!
Exactly. Factual light output between 4300K an 6000K isnt that much different. To be honest I think it could be the way the camera took the light. Although next time I will be going for 4300K over the 6000K.Brianmoooore wrote:A colour temperature of 6000K is a colour temperature of 6000K.town325i wrote:there are two different types of 6000k bulbs one set are blue and the other are ice white i no this becuase i have both

I want these as well. May order some 2day. Are they litterally just change the bulb? Coz i've seen some which require an 'adapter' of some sort, but i think they where Xenon lights... but i have no idea.
4300K is the recomended ones then? Do these work for dip beams and high beams? so yould you need 2 packs of bulbs to do that?

Uni is killing the project.
If you buy a kit, you will get 'ballasts' which you will need to mount in the engine bay somewhere safe. The 'burners' you get will require some degree of modification to the bulb holders in the lights to fit properly but not much. Do a search on here, there's PLENTY of stuff that goes into detail on it.NayC wrote:I want these as well. May order some 2day. Are they litterally just change the bulb? E30s have different light clusters for dip/main beam hence the 4 headlight front grill layout! So, no these won't do your main beam, just dipped. 4300k has been recommended by most as this temperature gives out the cleanest light that's supposed to be the closest to daylight available (which I think is 5000k but could well be wrong!). 6000k gives off a slightly blue light.
HTH.
