This morning my Tech 2 sport got stolen, used for a burglary, and then burned out at the back of Slough train station in.

Mk1/2 Golfs (and Polos, Sciroccos etc) were incredibly easy to get into - punch through the door skin under the handle and move the latch. Have seen many in scrappers done like that. There was a reinforcement plate sold for them that screwed down underneath the handle and prevented anyone damaging the skin around it - very, very popular mod and did the job well. I used to have a Scirocco - that was the first thing I did to it.Jon_Bmw wrote:New door definatly required. Golf mk2s used to get done in a not to disimilar way but the lock was intergrated with the handle IIRC, I wonder if there is a reinforcement plate that could be used?
were i come from you don't need a steering wheel to drive it away ...just a pair of mo grips will do ...seen loads of sports stolen without any lock damage ...BMWAlpinaC2 wrote:Allow that man, everytime I have to park the Alpina with the roof down on a nice sunny day in a public place, I always take the steering wheel with me, I never leave it in, original steering wheel and it's a bast**d to remove and fit, but worth not getting the car nicked, of course, all this is on top of the normal security measures like locks and stuff!!![]()

Not sure your insurance would cover you, with the roof left down tbh.BMWAlpinaC2 wrote:Allow that man, everytime I have to park the Alpina with the roof down on a nice sunny day in a public place, I always take the steering wheel with me, I never leave it in, original steering wheel and it's a bast**d to remove and fit, but worth not getting the car nicked, of course, all this is on top of the normal security measures like locks and stuff!!![]()

A simple switch to short circuit the fuel pump supply wire, and it would have been unlikely to have gone anywhere.BMWAlpinaC2 wrote:I knew it was going to happen.

It would not blow up. It would of disabled your fuel supply.BMWAlpinaC2 wrote:LMAO, and what, blow it up even if my wife tried to start it up and move it onto the road and blow her up inside to lol?Brianmoooore wrote:A simple switch to short circuit the fuel pump supply wire, and it would have been unlikely to have gone anywhere.BMWAlpinaC2 wrote:I knew it was going to happen.

That'd be a good thing to have though. If you can't have it, noone can have it lol!

All that would happen is fuse 11 would blow, and, after that, attempts to hot wire it would fail.BMWAlpinaC2 wrote:LMAO, and what, blow it up even if my wife tried to start it up and move it onto the road and blow her up inside to lol?Brianmoooore wrote:A simple switch to short circuit the fuel pump supply wire, and it would have been unlikely to have gone anywhere.BMWAlpinaC2 wrote:I knew it was going to happen.
