Now... I have a REALLY clean Lasch Silber 325i SE Auto that I have removed the engine/box/running gear from to fit an S50B32/5 speed M3 box/MCoupé running gear to. Needless to say the car will have just about enough go to keep up with the limitless power of you iS boys at last..
I have always had it in my head that I would fit SE side skirts, iS lip spoiler and an Mtech 1 boot spoiler to it for period looks.. Even keep the chrome.
Now I realise I cant afford the 16" compomotive wheels that I'd need to fit over the brakes, or even a set of M3 16" wheels to get machined to the correct offset (originally the plan) so I have BBS 328i Sport split rims (17").
I really like the tech2 sport but the only way in my mind is to use all original BMW parts and make a proper looking sport replica.
I have just been offered a tech2 kit in colour at a reasonanble price and it would have everything to make it look nice. It would even cover the only dent on the car, on the valance.
What other parts would I need to replicate a sport?
Tech 2 kit (full)
De-Chrome
Anthricite headlining
Map mirror
Tweeter pods
Sport front seats (which would have to be the rarer silver ones - typical)
Tech 2 wheel
Black mast aerial
I'd also be adding de-chrome kidneys, DIY smoked non-smilie headlights, smoked repeaters and front indicator lenses, my 17" BBS's and Evo bonnet and bumper seals. I am going to fit 332iS badges to it using the 32 bit and cutting another E30 badge to get the other 3. I have iS from my old car and I'll paint them satin black to contrast the lasch...
Should I go to tech 2????? I think you need to to pull off 17" wheels..
I am a bit broke (VERY VERY broke) so this would be eating into the S50 fund but all the parts have come up at once (and I might possibly, maybe be able to put off paying for them short term/swapping some of my morsels).
HELP!
Lasch silver tech 2's are a thing of sex.
Jai
To Tech 2 or not to Tech 2?? That is the question...

Not normally a fan of Tech2 kits, but I think the Tech2 would be a must with 17s on it.
Not in E30s any more
Well you've covered all the parts to make a sport rep. The only thing i've noticed is the tweeter pods which make up part of the high spec audio upgrade, not standard on any E30 let alone a sport so although a nice extra, not necesary to replicate a sport.
Sounds like a nice spec btw.

Jai - I think either way is good. Either "sleeper stock+" or full house sport ++. All I would say is that if you go for the sport look, you have to go the whole hog and fit some council rear lights and rusty rear arches / filler neck / battery tray
I think I have maybe a 1% preference for the more minimalist look (I'd be tempted to fit 320i badge as well - right amount of bhp if not displacement...) but if you're fitting 17s, the sport kit will set that off nicely. Lachs is good colour so you can't go too far wrong tbh!
