Hi Folks

Just wondering if I should avoid Sytner in Coventry. I've read a couple of reviews which suggest the main dealers are a bit poor on a number of fronts (i.e. cost, knowledge of E30s and general indiffernce to cars older than 7 years . . .)

Does anyone use a garage which truly knows its stuff? It's not just the money, it's the feeling that people actually care about these great cars which makes a difference. I've been quite lazy in thre past and went straight to BMW thinking they would at least do an excellent job.

Derek Forrest in Lincoln is ex BMW trained and specialist. A number of Zoners have used him and he is cheaper than the dealer.

Ive heard bad things about BMW dealers in the Birmingham/Coventry area, not just servicing/repairs but even the attitude towards customers from staff in the parts department

Your much better off finding an independent BMW specialist who like the old cars

i would be amazed any sytner dealership not being able to look after a e30. How ever my local dealership a young lad didn't reconsie my alpina as a e30 or an alpina

Thanks for the replies guys. I shall certainly be following them up! Servicing is always a bit of a headache for me. As with the MOT I seem always to uncover a new fault/issue with the car (mine being a 1990 325i sport) every tme it's serviced. :?

But there again, these motors are ageing gracefully enough to justify hanging on to them. I just hope my wallet agrees . . .
