One Reason Why I Hate Jersey.
Moderator: martauto
Not dissing my little island, but there are some seriously annoying things about living here.
Heres on of them. I often like to look around and see what cars are up for sale. And there is only 1 real place to do that. Jersey Insight.
Upon a gander through the classifieds I found two (thats right 2!) BWM E30s for sale.

Possible Rally car?? doubtfull...
...Thats the choices we get. There was another convertable 323i auto for 2500 in good nick a few weeks back. Never any Sports or M3s or anything... ever. Plenty of E36s tho.... whey (sarcasticly).

dont you all drive triumph 2000 roadsters....
Triumph 2000 roadsters??? where on earth did u get that from? You can import a car, but a car like an E30 worth at most 4 grand aint worth it. Firstly getting it over here costs a fair few hundred. You have to get DVS to do our shitty 250 point check (like the MOT, but more pathetic) and englands MOT doesn't work (i really dont know why), get it regestered and get a number plate etc. Its only worth it when you say something like i want THAT car and you cant get them from Jersey so you look in the UK, but only if you are prepared to pay alot more than what the cars worth (roughly 1000 more).
Like in a year or two i may consider importing a 325iS or 318iS just coz they're no-existant over here. Same with cozzies, but theres more Cozzies than Sports by far in jersey, but if your after a particualar type like the Escort RS Cos 4x4 then you'll just have no chance... ever.

And you've got a load of nice beaches that even in the high season you can go and enjoy without seeing another soul. Tbh, I think you're winning. Got a sister I can marry?

Ah yes, a blast up and down St Ouens bay would be good. But not in an E30 - too much sand getting into all the wrong placesNayC wrote:Thats coz i bought the car of you! And chances are you will see many souls on a trip to a beach! tbh tho, it is nice to have lots of them. Wish we could only drive on them...

True. But there are some some e30s, mostly found round the back of peoples houses. Either preserved, or just battered. Occasionally the rich appear in ferrari's and quite a number of porches. Subaru's are everywhere, and they're definately not my type of car... Theres more cars per person here than anywhere in the world by what it seems here. Its madness, most houses have at least 2 cars and some just have dozens lying around in fields and sheds etc. One guy in trinity has a 100 per car thing, and loadsa BMWs (but none you'd really pay for) apart from donor parts).
Do they still do the beach races at st ouen? Lay out a big oval and drive stupidly quick nonsense round and round all day, right in the middle of summer. Went when i was about 13, fackin awesome. Bouley bay hill climb was good too.DavieP wrote:Ah yes, a blast up and down St Ouens bay would be good. Wish we could only drive on them...I can't remember ever seeing an E30 over there even when they were current and the essential car to be seen in. Loads of Mercs and Porsches though and more than a few Ferraris too. Amazing how many cars are packed into just 350 miles of roads and lanes on 45 square miles of island.
You're going to the wrong beaches chum!

Only child djk. Plenty of tarts in the island, so you can try your luck! St. Ouens is a big open boring beach, i know every beach in the island (well theres a few tiny ones i aint explored), but ye somehow you can enter sand racing. It quite often held in st. aubins along the waterfront (by the anvenue, which is our only dual carrigeway with a top speed of 40mph, which you will have been on if you have been to the island), but bugger knows how to enter and i'm not takin my e30 to it ever... may look into investin in a sand racer, maybe a battered 325i... Theres the bouley bay hill climb too but i have no idea how to enter and what to enter with.
