That's been around for quite a while. Does not look like the best way of doing it at all does it. Fine if you're prepared to have to retighten it all the time I guess.

I just tought it was a cheap idea myself.I've put the z3 shifter on mine which is probably 100 times better than that!

Yeah, I've got the UUC Motorwerks one thanks to the previous owner. It's cheap but realistically if you want to make something rigid putting a joint in it like that isn't really the way forward, especially as it's not that much cheaper than the other ebay ones with a full lever. I guess you don't have to do much work to install it is the only advantage.

I fitted one of these about 18 months ago and find it very good.Well made and does just what it says on the box. It has not work loose or needed re-tightening.Seem to remember that I only paid about £12 though...It is also worth replacing the linkage bushes to reduce slop and play in the gearshift. My wife moans about the short shift, she claims that it is heavy and difficult to use compared to the standard item in the touring.I just keep suggesting that she should fully depress the clutch and drive the car far enough to let the oil warm through.I found that using ATF in the gearbox made a significant improvement to the weight of the gearchange, and I would guess that a heavier gearknob would lighten it further.
Youth is wasted on the young.

May well work but this claim is bollo*.

no need to remove the stock shifter as other competitor models (without proper BMW tool it is kind of impossible to remove the stock shifter from the housing).

Moving the pivot point is the way it is changed on a 205 gti. We have done it on ours and had no problems. Haven't really had the inclination to mess about with the e30 one.

^ I have got a z3 lever in mine and it took me a while to get used to, although after an hour or so I decided that it feels much better than the old lever. It seems much tougher to take it out of reverse position though.
