Hi guys
I would like to know which insurance companies some of the younger zoners use for their E30. The cheapest quote i've had so far is 1700 from directline on a 318is.
As you may have guessed from the subject i'm 19, so classic car insurance won't do as you have to be over 25 in most cases.

Help would be greatly appreciated

Direct Line were my insurer with my E30 320 with a Cosworth engine (350bhp+) at 19, i paid about £2000.

If you struggle to find a decent quote you'll have to start working them against each other and bullying them into a better price! I spent weeks, hundreds of calls, and lots of talking to get a decent quote!

They then insured me on my 3.5 V8 LandRover Defender 90 for about £1800 i think it was.

Good luck!

Have you got any NCB and how many years driving? Also whats your postcode type? E.g. A class area, B class, etc. Stick it into google to find out.

Cheapest quote I got for my 318i with original BBS alloys, changed bumper, lowered 40mm, welded diff and cat back exhaust mod was less than £1200 with premium choice, with 1 years NCB, 2 years driving. No NCB took it up to nearer £1500. Thats on a driveway, B class postcode.

give www.moneysupermarket.com a try.

i got quoted £900 fully comp on 318i cabby with BELL. if i was to declare the modifications, it only increases premium by £400, but the major issue is the excess increasing from £450 to £1000. thats includin 2.5 engine

0 NCB, 3 years licence. 20 years old. on the drive

Sohood - premium choice.
Tbh, I'd rather have paid another £100 and gone with adrian flux, these guys have messed me around a bit, but if there's no problems to start with, then they should be plain sailing really.

1700 from directline on a 318is
wtf!? i insured my 318is when i was 18 for £1200 fully comp with 1 years ncb! i've had a requote for £930 (its due next week  ) with direct line but found it even cheaper at elephant for £850. Or i could buy a 325 convertible and insure it for £900 tpft! sounds like their having a giraffe! :P oh and adrain flux said that a 318is was the same as a 318i :? still wouldnt give me a quote though

I've said it many times before, but insurance is a funny old game. Totally random at times.

What's the point in fully comp if you have modifications that are undeclared? What will be insured if you claim? I expect they will just tell you to go swing for it. As I just said on another thread, remember why you buy insurance. It is not to get a piece of paper that says you are insured, it is so that you actually are insured if the sh1t hits the fan (by which I do not mean 'if you bend your pride and joy', I mean 'if you mangle some poor sod'. Lifetime debt, a prison sentence, and the inadequate care of your disabled victim on your conscience Vs a few hundred quid on an insurance premium. Go figure.)

If you are going to lie, be smart, don't pay for extra cover they're never going to give you anyway.

Harsh on you mate.

I'm 20 with 1 year NCB, 2 years driving. Paying £200 more for fully comp with direct line on 325i sport with 3 points.

Tesco... every little helps? I think not.
