As above really. Is a cab 325i

It maybe something they all had. For example "convertable hood" is also listed.

My Sport also has 850 * Additional Fuel on the Vehicle Specification Enquiry. I gather it's just for the fuel put in for delivery to the dealer or customer.

ahhhh ok, I assumed it was the larger capacity tank (62L instead of 55L)

If I am paying £12k-25k or so for a car (equivalent to about double that now?) the least I would expect would be some fuel in the thing!

Haha, its still the case. The company I used to work for ordered 10,000 new cars every year and only the jags came with a quarter of a tank! All the rest came with absolute minimum. The cars had to be rolled off the delivery truck some of the time.

The logic: BMW, Merc, Vauxhall, Ford whoever charge a percentage over what it actually costs for the tank. When ordering that many cars, it does make a difference.

Driving any large engine 4x4 to the nearest petrol station when the range is on zero was always a great experience.

bmw/ mini sold somewhere around 300,000 cars last year, £10 worth of fuel in each car would be a cool £3million in perol alone, now just imagine how much it would cost if they filled up every tank! (plus imagine how many of those cars would have their tanks drained somewhere between the factory and showroom)

i'm sure manufacturers could bung £40 of fuel in every new car, but they'd just bung £40 on to the baseline price of the car!
cheers,

harry
