Looks like Henna red to me? So more orange than pink! Great colour & I bet a 320i auto is a nice relaxing cruiser... Now if it was white, with poverty spec (grey) facelift bumpers, that'd be cr@p!
E30 in need of wiring loom smoke since April '11...

i can vouch for the 320's smooth ride, my e30 being my first car the 320 seemed a good entry into the 6 cylinder world. . . but its like everything you get bored with it.. cue the 87 b25... the rest is history.

Apparently according to quite a few on the forum its quite possibly the worst E30 you could ever own!!!!!!.
Yes, it is possibly the least desirable spec. going, but it's still a 1000 times better than a new Focus or some French sh*te.
If you looked at any of my other posts with my car in forgive me for being shi*e with a camera, it was on my phone as well!!!!!
long live the 4 door!!!!!!
Does it really matter what spec it is when its so old now, 24 and 1/2 years and only 74500 miles from new!!!!
Long live chrome, autos and 4 drs
Henna looks red until put along side a red car - then it distinctly becomes orange.

'A modified two litre six will rev until it wails like a wolf at full moon, but its not a lot of good for towing the family caravan to Minehead!!
The 3.5 big six, however, as used by the forestry commission to pull tree stumps out of the ground, will tow the caravan but takes some waking up at a track day, the moral being, its horses for courses.'

Not my words but there is some truth there.

Well, the 'children' will harp on about 'poverty spec' and power they can't use
My current is a 70K, 1988 320i automatic that has been in the family from new. No way does it resemble the snotty, extreme remarks often written here on the zone, so god knows what those posters have driven ... if they've driven one. It's not as punchy low down as the 325, but it has far more 'go' than a 318i and does it with much less fuss and mechanical clatter. A chip sorts out the fuel consumption (23-25mpg stop-start town driving : 34-36mpg open-road/motorway) and vastly improves the pick-up at low revs. I'd expect a well-maintained manual to do even better.
Performance-wise, it's no racer nor has it ever pretended to be, but it revs very freely when pressed, gives out a wonderful muffled howl and gets on with business at a very respectable pace. If you want to eye-up and take on drivers of French shite at the lights and dice with ditches after every corner, then the 325 is the car of choice - just make sure there are no cameras about. If not, a 320i won't disappoint. It is quieter, smoother and not massively slower. It all depends upon what you want from a car. As mentioned before, a good, low ownership one that has not been ragged to bits will be much easier to find. And if the speed demon does get to you, a conversion is relatively straightforward.

The 320i convertible came in prettier colours from what I've seen. When I was looking for a convertible, I did test drive 320i and 325i autos and must admit I went for the more punchier, responsive 325i. I wanted a more powerful engine to pull around the heavier, reinforced convertible. If the 320i auto convertibles had been as responsive as the 325i auto convertibles that I drove, I would have bought a 320i auto convertible, it would certainly have saved me money on cost, as well as on the insurance.

I love my 320i! It makes the right noises and was gently treated by its first owner (I'm the second) so it is near mint now, both to look at and mechanically. I'd love to replace it with a 2dr 325i in the same condition, but I've been looking everywhere and they don't exist (or if they do, they're not for sale at any price). Old blokes who like polish and dealer service charges bought 320s, simple as. I'd rather a nice 320 like mine than a thrashed, crashed and generally abused 325 as I hate buying 'work'.
I never entertained the idea of a 4-pot - I wanted a 'proper' BMW.

Mines exactly the same...... a 1984 320i and i love it! so i got to agree with The DiddlerThe_Diddler wrote:Well i've got a:

And do you know what!!!!, i dont give a flying f*ck, i love it, its got to be one of the oldest surviving 4 doors built in feb 1984 and its still going!!!.
After some of you have either weighed them in or fitted big engines or turned them into drift cars there aint going to be many left!!!!, so i'm gonna save one, even if nobody else wants it!!! ever
But thats one of my tastes in E30, i think it deserves to be saved even if others dont, if i want something a bit differnet then i'll buy a sport, Alpina or m3 and they can share a garage together.
Right then, i'll duck for covver now and prepare myself for the flaming/onslaught, be gentle!!!!!!!![]()

I'd love a 320i engine to play with right now, E21 320/4 though...
Not in E30s any more
I have a 1984 320i at the mo, complete with LE Jetronic and original 3.45 diff. I'm surprised at how well it goes and driven sensibly it's good for well over 30 mpg on a run.
Slow? Ask Dan 318iS how slow my 320i Touring was around Bedford. Wind them up and they go very well. A chip and 325i tb makes them a lot better.

Where did you get that ? does the national history museum have a skip out the back ?
I've just bought a second 320i, one for the week and one for sunday best! Both of them are in 'rare' luxorbeige, both are the sought after 'quattroporte' body style, and both are on a certain non-crossspoke BMW design of alloy wheel that reminds me a bit ot the tops you get on beer bottles. The 'new' one is a slushmatic as well, sweet, I reckon it'll fly.
I'm gonna get some pics up of my fleet next week, make sure you don't dribble too much on your keyboards.
