325i

What would everyone say to fit to a stock 325i to add to or improve its good looks?
Not a tech2 kit, something a bit different if there are any suggestions???
Its an '89 model dont know how that affects things...
Cheers guys
(not sure if this is the wrong place so please feel free to move it if needs be)

iv got a facelift schnitzer areo kit that will be going on mine... its different.. its @ucking rare and it looks smart... just gotta find that damn boot spoiler, nico my eyes and ears in germany is going to find me one... hopefully!
it has taken me many years to find one though so patience is a vertue!
other kits to consider are alpina's offerings(although the alpina police will proberbly have a fit if you fit one) reiger kits, or the old run of the mill m technic 2 kit.

SE skirts are nice and understated as is a tech1 spoiler but ultimately my advise would be spend the money on getting it right cosmetically and mechanically and it will look great without adornments which add weight and cost money that will be more productively spent elsewhere.

I'd suggest an eibach spring kit/rollbars and bilstein shocks. 35mm drop all round and very nice handling.tommtb wrote:What would everyone say to fit to a stock 325i to add to or improve its good looks?

Of course there other options but I can personally recommend these.

how much am i looking at for that suspension setup??? as im sure it will need lowering...
yeah i like the old alpinas where they came from the showroom just with some undertated skirts and the front bumper, looks different and kool i reckon
surely the alpina people wont be too worried if i dont have alpina graphics or say its an alpina?
plus who really cares, but lets not get into a debate.
cheers!

Should do, the facelift was 87/88 wasn't it? (I'm not hot on these things, and wiki wasn't too helpful)
The iS lip is LOW though, my cars lowered over 60mm, and I don't use the lip now as it just hits low kerbs, high kerbs, speed bumps, anything and everything!

Like what car nut? Lots of rims are already used, most popular are:
azev A's
BBS's or variants, e.g. BBS RS's etc.
Are you thinking go deep dish?
I'm thinking go jap tbh...

Well, the worlds your oyster it depends on your wallet size
I know first of all when I was looking I was going to go the Borbert route but everyman and his dog had them.
In the end I bought some Keskin KT4s even though normally on Golfs I think they suit the car.
And my main concern was wheels that were quite easily to clean after the original cross spokes which were pain in the Ar5e....

Agreed, I was wondering what you had in mind. I've got some fantastic alloys on my beetle, but they'd suck on the BMW because on the BMW they'd look council, but on the beetle they're part of the showy image.

ive seen some deep dish BBS on a car in sheffield but theyre not split rims? any clues?
also do borbet do wheels that look like deep BBS'?
im thinking deep dish/split rims but not as expensive as BBS RS? I know image wheels do some kool ones and compomotive but i guess theyre costly too
cheers so far!
also decided on an IS lip as the cars got a tech1 spoiler already, balance it out a touch...

£500 isnt too bad at all, i guess getting them fitted might cost a pretty penny? I dont have enough knowledge to do it myself yet, might have a mate who could help but hes got no experience with BMWs...
yeah the Epsilon wheels look awesome mate, where would i go about finding some crazy wheels like in you photobucket? love the Volk racing ones near the top, and theres some on the second to bottom row, perfect for an E30...
This is a real numbnuts question but whats the stud sizes and offset for an E30? I know its 4 stud.
Cheers

Tommtb, did you check pages 2 and 3 too?
Not a wheel fetish, but I get so fed up of wanting certain pictures of wheels to demonstrate points, and it also means I just pop into my photobucket when it comes to search ebay for cool stuff, so whenever I see something cool, I just add it onto one of the sections on photobucket (have you seen how many sections I have for various stuff?!)
As for getting hold of them - I've just searched UK ebay for all of them, your best bet for the jap stuff is either jap yahoo auction (they use it as their equivalent of ebay), or american ebay. You can get decent shipping, one bloke recently pays £120 to ship from japan, sounds bad, but if you get a set of wheels for £100, thats good.

All E30's minus the M3 are 4x100, M3 is 5x120. Centre bore is about 53mm I think, and offset of steels is ET35, so get something with a lower offset than that, and it should fit, BBS's are ET24 for example.
You should be able to use google page translator, or at least, yahoo might well do one for their pages too?
