Which exhaust system for my 6branch?

Hi,

Does anyone have any pics/diagrams of the 2 piece and 3 piece exhaust systems that come on the M20s?

Im having trouble matching my 6 branch to my existing 2 peice exhuast system. Do i need a 3 piece system?

I rear box is a scorpion Le Mans and my centre section (with down pipes) is BMW.

Most 6 branches will mate up to the centre section of a 3 piece exhaust.

What manifold is it...and does it have downpies and if so how far back do they come...eg do they reach gearbox and then you can cut the centre section and fit together

My concern is that iv just dropped in my Hartge H27 engine into my 320i and would my current 320i exhuast limit the new engine?

If you put the downpipes right way round they will line up with the existing pipes on your OE system centre at or near the gearbox mount...then you can cut them and slide or tube them together...dont cut too short...if you do make a mess or want an easier option you can get the centre system to match your exhaust

320 and 325 are the same i would go for a scorpion centre and rear box i love the sound mine makes and im runnning a alpina 6branch

Yo Mr.CliffyBabe how much oversize from standard bore is your pina 6 branch?

Your 6 branch will need the centre and rear of a three piece system.I bought mine from GSF along with a fitting kit for about £175.I had to mod the front of the centre bit to fit my manifold(I used a Hottuning manifold) as I needed one bolted olive joint and one sliding joint.I then discovered that the centre/rear joint was not a straight forward sliding joint and ended up welding the rear and centre sections together...it fitted,eventualy...

Try modding your original pipe to save money...no need to buy if you do it right

If you do have to buy this one on ebay will be a direct fit to 3 different makes of manifold like yours

320's have smaller bore exhausts not sure on size but alot smaller than 325i systems which are 44mm OD and alpina 50mm
