I had nankangs on the back of a VW scirocco, it was more tail-happy than the E30

I took a car round the ring on 4 NagKang's, they were very squeally, they kept me on the track, but they are worlds apart from the likes of F1's or PS2's. Then again both of those are put to shame by semi slicks in the dry.

It depends a lot on the actual tyre as well as the make, Nankang stopped the sticky one a few years ago and the replacements didn't appear as good.

As for the F1's I chucked them! winkeye

Gareth i'm tyring to help, you don't have to bow to me ffs. Eveything i've said has been backed up by other peoples thoughts.

The fact you fitted a small case diff to a 3.5 conversion for santa pod 8O tells us a great deal about yourself if we are being frank.

the dunlops are in the next league to toyos

me too... i didn't put them on my list!! :D :D i have had them before on a 1300 mk2 escort (many years ago) and they were very cheap, soft and sticky. good fun but didn't last long.

simon, everything you have said has been backed up by people who largely haven't tried them! i was also trying to help :) if they were no good, i would have pointed that out.

the small case diff at santa pod was a little silly, i grant you that, but at the time it was the only diff i could find to get me there and all-told it was quite funny! :D i did have a "will it blow up?" poll before i left and the general opinion was that it would be fine! 8O :o no suprises when it wasn't. :D

Now now girls! ^

Just to put one more tyre into the mix

http://www.hankooktire.com/eng/product/ ... .asp?pid=2

I think ill be buying these for the trip in May, £56 for 225 45 16 but they come with 6.8mm of thread - they will need to be scrubbed in for maximum effect.

Very good tyres, and have used them in the past.

Toyo are bringing these out soon:

I have to agree with 13, toyo are tried and tested on the Ring (by many people on this board) so its best to stick with them mate. I wont be going with T1r's again but only because i want to move to road R compounds.

Heard nothing but good stuff about marangoni's, and thats from people who use them for serious track use and just normal driving. I also know a lad who's sponsored by them, he says there shit hot, but i guess he would say that even if they wern't. Im so glad i don't pay for my tyres anymore.

I'm afraid he doesn't,the Lord is currently running with Accelera budget tyres all around, the name sounds ace so they must be good winkeye

That said, they do seem to have some reasonable reviews, although it is still a fairly new tyre, from New Zealand I think.

Time will tell...........

I've run them on my E30 and Saabs before switching to Kleber. Couldn't fault them and much better than the firestones I've got on my 900 turbo at the moment.
