On the M3, there is a fuel tank between rear seats and the boot. Is this rare or not?

I'll try and get a pic up if it helps.

Cheers,

Jamie.

Dunno how "rare", but I have one in my car...It's a bugger to fill, though!!

How easy is it to fit a bigger fuel tank to the 318is... whats the capacity of the standard tank? Is it worth it?

6-cyl cars and all Tourings had 63ltr tanks in contrast to the smaller 55ltr tank. 2 gallon difference (nearly).
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

According to Mr. Everett's restoration bible all 2.3M3's had a standard 55litre tank with an additional 15litre supplementary tank in the boot.

Anyone who's not got the book should pick up a copy - ISBN 1 85520 6781 Brooklands Books - it really is excellent.

My Mrs. got me a copy for Valentines Day.... :D

why is it difficult to fill? i'm guessing my alpina one will be the same!

The alpina one only has a filler hole and breather but that M3 one looks to have a level sensor aswell?
