German Style plates!

While I'm at it, why do people spend their pennies on Northern Irish plates? To hide the true age of their 15-25 year old car?

We all know these plates are illegal. It's a styling option. No more illegal than very dark tinted windows, but some choose to do it anyway cos they like the look.



Personally, I don't care if they're a "crime" I'll keep em on untill I get pulled. They went through an mot ok, got a mention, NOT an advisory.

It seems some members have a huge dislike for these plates and keep bleating on about it. Yes, they're illegal, but that's a technicality. Cameras CAN read them, and as stated, they do go through an mot.

Given the state society's in surely we should take a stand against those who knowing commit any crime - there's no such thing as a technicality - if it's against the law, it's against the law.

And driving around with illegal registration plates is a "V" sign to the authorities. And it shouldn't be condoned.

So did mine but i kept the correct plates just incase , Im not against german style plates but you will be one of the ones moaning in a few weeks time that you got stopped and handed a £30 fine , And NO the camera recognition cars dont recognise german style plates , Been there and done that with the police with camera on board

Ok, fair enough. I think why people keep them on anyway is more of a moral thing. They're perfectly legible, they can be read by cameras, they shouldn't be illegal. But since when has the law had any morals. i don't intend it to be a 'V' to the cops. I have great respect for them. I just like the way the plates look.

Yep it is true mate , There are a few posts about german plates and i always argued the toss about them and had them on my car , They look the mutts nutts and was gutted when i had to go back to english plates , It was the friendly coppers in hastings who were fine with me who explained why they dont like them but as i had stopped them and re-argued a ticket they gave me and kept it friendly they were fine , Its polegate traffic who eventually had me parked up in a private carpark afer failed attempts at getting me , There are new laws that also stipulate about euro style plates
Avater is cool , It would be easier if i had a 4 door though
