That's why car manufacturers go with Vented disks when heat build up/dissipation is going to be a problem. Mate check out this thread, I fitted EBC to may car on tuesday - http://www.e30zone.co.uk/modules.php?na ... ic&t=10428

I aint never had a problem or know any one who has had a problem. I've used ebc for the past 8 years on over 15 of my motors
If they crack then they crack, might even get hit by bus on my way to the shop round the cornor

My pagid/zimmerman are very noisey, but I do have a suspected sticky calipers aswell which don't help. I don't mind the noise too much, it's only at low speeds and if you brake a little late then it's as loud as the std ones. PITA though when you have passengers, they tend not to be ready for a quick stop, have cleaned a few Mc'd's off my dashboard allready

My dad has had the same set of drilled zimmermans fitted to his Mk II 16v Golf now for close on 9 years, and he's never had any problems, and boy do they bite! I also ran drilled on the sport for 2 years without any problems.
Porsche are also known to make some of the best brake set ups in the world, and theyre always drilled too.
E46 M3 also has drilled discs fitted as standard..

I have Pagid/Zimmermann on my M3, courtesy of GSF. I have used them for 5 years with no problem - I did find that the ABS was kicking in too easily and that the brakes were always full on....I could never really control the braking.....I then discovered a sticky caliper.....changed the calipers and now the breaking is the nuts.....full control.

we're not talking huge cracks, but under hard use they will microfracture and they add up in the end. under normal road use tho its not as likely to be an issue

That is just what I have, so have sourced another set of working calipers and they're soon to be on :woohoo: I hope they have the same effect.
So glad I mentioned it now :thumb: I kinda NEED my brakes now more than ever :D
