why not just use a c20let??? much more tunable!!
I have been taking to Saab flight they recon 240 to 280 is well with in
The scope of the stand management
The plan is for me to do all the physical work then give them the car
To do black boxes magic
A lot will depend on the exhaust as they respond well to a free flooring exhaust
As this is all being don on a budget of £10 two shirt buttons and selling the missies
(She might make a tener) 240 bph will be grate
Got the Saab for sod all got a ford type 9 boxes got a welder got sum steal.
Bell housing will coast about £50 so will be selling my m20 to help fund the job.

The Saab can make 500 bhp on stranded internals
No c20 let can do that
Plus had lots of Vauxhall and the new stuff is badly made
Were the Saab is just bedded in at 100 000 miles
£2000 with a 2.3 head will get you 400 + bhp
Do that with a c20 let

It'll be nice and different too! Are they expensive to get hold of? I Imagine not.
So what's your shopping list? I spose: vauxhaull bellhousing, ford cosworth (is that the T5??) gearbox, custom prop, custom mounts, custom downpipe/exhaust and a rad. What about diff ratio's. Am I right in thinking the fords have diffs around the 2.9 mark? If so yuo'll need an M3 diff or one made out of an LSD E30 difff and some sort of E28 I spose.
Shouldn't be too hard. What sump will you use? Is there one thats suitable or are you going to have the ballache of making a custom one?
Get some stats and pictures posted in the engine swap section soon!
