1.8 diff change to lsd

My diff is in need of replacing on my 1.8i. I would like to upgrade to a lsd however i know that the smaller cased lsd's are rare. I would like to know how difficult it is to fit the larger type and how to shorten the prop shaft so it would fit? :?
