Re: Exhaust Downpipes to Manifold Nuts torque setting?

Thank you very much. My local BMW dealers gave me one steel one copper for my pipes 2 short of the four required? I requested they replaced the steel one and the missing nuts for the copper ones, i was thinking more in terms of the rust resistance qualities.

Exhaust Downpipes to Manifold Nuts torque setting?

Hi, Anyone know the torque setting for the 4 exhaust manifold to downpipe nuts please. Thought i had them tight enough, but was blowing when i started the car. Tightened them again with an old longer leverage torque bar. Think i've lost a lot of strength, what i think is tight now clearly isn't anym...

Re: Car valuation

Thank you very much. Didn't spot that! No problem :thumb: Well once the car needs a respray then the amount of work (cost) doesn't change much for a proper job if the original paint is good or bad. The value will be in the detail, rust in the wrong place can be an expensive and/or tricky repair. It...

Re: Ignition Switch

First question is why did you have the inner barrel apart? Nothing to do with the switch. If you've disabled the steering lock, it's important that you've totally removed the peg that engages with the steering wheel boss, so that it cannot engage under any circumstances when driving. Steering locks...

A flat plate bolted in place of the motor will keep the coolant in.
Yes, just read your previous comment, with Gasket/oring. Utilising the o ring would require some machining of a plate? be neat but flat plate and gasket would suffice?
Thank you.

Re: Heater matrix

I would have heat for the first time in my car ? Didn't realise that your problem was no heat at all. It's unusual for a valve to fail shut, unless the heater hoses are the wrong way around, when the flow of water can hold it closed. Do you know that the problem is with the valve and not the matrix...

There was a recall several years ago regarding a potential cause of this. The problem was the coolant b...
