Re:
This is great! Thanks for all the replies ladies and gents. I kinda figured it would be 'normal', these are old electronics now so probably not terribly low power in standby, and my Clifford only compounds this I guess. I'm not sure completely how long it takes my battery to drain - 'a few days' was...

Re: Battery Drain while Parked
Funny you should mention that - the drain I'm seeing is all through fuse 21 (except the alarm which is on 25), which the glovebox light is on. It turns out that the bulb is actually stuck into the top of the switch! I'd always wondered where it was and I was surprised to discover this when I yanked ...

Re: Battery Drain while Parked
Hi Rich thanks for the suggestion...I removed the light from the boot some time ago though in the hope it would sort it but it wasn't that I'm afraid!

Battery Drain while Parked
Hi everyone, I've been trying to sort out a perennial problem with my car and need some advice. Basically, my car has always had a habit of running its battery flat in a few days when parked. This is quite annoying - it's like having a remote control car I have to charge every time before I can use ...

Bought a few electric window switches with no problems at all. Really fast service despite being around New Year and even got a few extra spare!

Re: BTB 6 branch Install Tips?
Yeah I tend to run it for a bit before getting under the bonnet as it keeps my face nice and warm! :D For the benefit of the original poster I'd say use the engine and jack method if you're not using new studs (I tend to replace cheap bits like that 'while I'm in there' but getting the old studs out...

Re: BTB 6 branch Install Tips?
Oo, just remembered more detail...I had to move the clutch fluid reservoir as well. IIRC I also installed the exhaust studs by posting them through the manifold as I held it agaist the engine..using this method at least one of the sets of pipes couldn't be slotted over them if they were preinstalled...

Re: BTB 6 branch Install Tips?
I fitted mine to my facelift E30...didn't go the route of loosening the engine mount, but I did have to remove the wash bottle and move the coil out of the way before I could get it in; no problems with the steering bits and bobs either. The guys in my local bodyshop recommended I heat wrap it too a...

Re: Brake pad warning light
I'd like to say cheers to Brian for explaining this one too...the pad wear light has been problematic ever since I bought the car and I'd almost given up hope of ever fixing it... For info for other Zoners looking at this thread in future I'll add that this fault can cause flickering OR being on per...

Re: injectors
Thing about the standard FPR is that a sudden collapse in vacuum (i.e. pressure increase) should lead to a sudden increase in fuel pressure. The standard FPR is able to react pretty much instantaneously to changes in load. I'd guess that the sudden increase in duty of the injectors lead to the fuel...

Re: injectors
Yeah it is for sure, if you Google it I think there is a description of what it's meant to do on their website, which you can take as you will. My gut feeling (based on experiments I did with the stock FPR) is that it doesn't change the fuelling, rather responds to changes with greater agility. By t...

Re: injectors
Cheers for all the replies on that...that online calculator was actually the one I used! I've actually gone for 17lb Denso injectors out of a Ford Ranger which I don't know of anyone trying before, but are similar to the stock M30 ones I think. I thought the 19lb Ford ones might be a bit much as I'v...

Re: injectors
Crikey! bosch 715 injectors flow a puny 149cc/min which is good for about 29.8bhp/injector making a grand total of 178.8bhp absolute maximum on a 325i with 3bar fuel pressure and that's at a 100% duty cycle which BMW really shouldn't have been getting near! Now who reckons they're getting more than...

I'd seriously steer clear of things like that...I think this this thread from the other week is probably talking about something along the same lines: http://www.e30zone.co.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=42533&highlight=ceramic+resistor Hopefully this should give you the advice you need!

I set mine to 0.7mm ± 0.1mm, this is for the standard Bosch plugs...as far as I can tell a lot of people here use NGKs, they may have different requirements!

Re:
Ah yes! I remember now, it was the little pipe in front and not the valve that's the major pain to change...no worries; the valve itself is actually straighforward. Follow the instructions there and it'll be sorted in no time...good luck!

Re: Ticking heater knob/flap
Yeah sounds like a dodgy heater control valve, it's behind the dash on the left hand side of the central tunnel, just inside the firewall. I did mine not so long ago, the valve is about £60 IIRC from Euro Car Parts - although I think there are two types so you'd need to figure out which you need. ...

Turner Motorsport in the US do a rack stop kit; basically a pair of rubber rings that sit at either end of the rack to reduce its travel. Maybe a bit of a mission to sort out...but as part of a longer term solution it may be worth considering. I'm toying with trying them out myself to stop my wheels...

This came just from the ETK mate, I think as there's some interest and confusion surrounding this I'll take a trip to the dealer soon and see what I can discover; the parts guy at my local one is pretty safe so with a bit of luck I can get to the bottom of this! In case it's different, I'm looking a...

OEM MAF Upgrade?
Hi everyone, this is my first post and I'm wondering if anyone can help me out with something... I have recently removed and cracked open my air flow meter in an attempt to fix rich running (having checked everything else), and I am left with two questions: 1. Is the AFM set at the factory to run wi...
