Re: What essential spares do you keep 'in stock'?

99% of what has been listed so far is simply replacement parts.
I read the question as "Essential" spare parts.

Zip out rear window

I'm going to to replace the convertible top on our '98 325, and I understadn you can get a zip out window.
Was this a factory original?
Has anybody here had experience with them?
Is the zipper well hidden?
Thanks,

So, is it as easy as it looks to remove cabrio top?

I want to remove my M3 electric top so that I can give the inside rear window a really good polish. It looks like a simple case of remove two nut on each side, plus of course the fuse line. Is ther anything as far as alignment I need to worry about when reinstalling?

The guys at Leatherique (US product) have said this is the best way of removing fine scratches on the bolster and then re dying it.

Actually the term Cabriolet is a form of convertible...as is roadster.
A Cabriolet is a convertible with roll up glass windows. A Roadster is a convertible with snap on side curtains.

Funny thing that..people buy horsepower but drive with torque.
There is so much more to a car's performance than how much hp.

Re: 23,000 miles

lol good point 320i.. i'm sorry i just don't see the point.. what use is that car other than to be kept in a garage somewhere. Surely the whole idea of buying an M3 is because you want to drive it, and drive it properly, not store it in a garage. Unless you have an extremely rare one it just seems ...

However my wife's 325ic is Canadian. So, perhaps you are right that all European grills are the same except SE version.

This is the M3 Cabrio with 215hp, and no A/C. You can se the width of the opennings etween kidney and headlights. This is substantially wider than on my wifes 325ic with A/C.

The size of the openning between the slats varies depending on the size of the engine (195 vs 215 hp), and options (ie A/C).
